Rosier still starting

He’s going to keep trotting Malik out there until Malik gets hurt or completely disintegrates. Then, Perry will come in ice cold with the team down by 21.

Rick has botched up the QB situation. If he wasn’t absolutely certain during the off-season that Perry was going to take the job, then he should have signed a grad transfer to take the job. Under no circumstances should he have gone into this season with Malik as his starter.

Lmao rosier about to light it up on Toledo on the road..ready for “toledo”from the fans

Bigger question is whether we move Scaife to RT so Donaldson can swing inside and we can have actual guard play again.

Hayden Mahoney and Jahair Jones are absolutely atrocious and we can’t run an offense with them, regardless of who the QB is.
Put Scaife @ RT Donaldson @ RG Gaynor @ C Gauthier @ LG St Louis @LT

Richt had plenty of opportunity to bring in JUCO or grad transfers at the QB position. Instead he just mismanaged the unit & let Allison leave while retaining shirreff. He doesn't get a pass for lack of depth, he gets the blame.

Richt told Allison straight to his face to get lost. This is the same Allison that will likely start for West Virginia next year.

idk how Sherrifs actually beat him out, if he really did at all...but all I know is Allison is likely going to start for a Big XII team next year and Sherrifs can't beat out jobbers at Charlotte...third string on the depth chart there...crazy.

Maybe Richt forgot what a good quarterback looks like? Would explain Rosier starting for 15 games. idk. Just a thought. He hasn't had a good quarterback since Aaron Murray, and he graduated five seasons ago. Hutson Mason, Brice Ramsey, Faton Bauta, Greyson Lambert, Jacob Eason, Brad Kaaya, Malik Rosier, and Evan Sheriffs have taken snaps for this man since 2014. idk how the fvck that happens at two schools that can recruit as well, in talent hotbeds, like Miami and Georgia. That's a horrendous list of QBs.

This reminds me of the old Alex Smith kaepornick situation Harbaugh made the call and went with the unproven but higher upside and got to super bowl I think Perry could bring us to a higher ceiling than Malik

U would have to be a fool to think Richt would make a change. Of course he’s not. The bigger concern, to me, is that OL play. I didn’t read, but I saw one poster mention Richt stated that OL play wasn’t bad initially. If that’s the case, then Richt has become a senile fool, and that’s 100. Stop being soft and stubborn and move Donaldson back to guard and bring a rookie off the bench!

This right here. IMO Richt is trying his best to avoid sending the young guns out behind that line. The inability to generate some solid ground game would be a lot of pressure on some crazy inexperienced kids and leaves them back there to get raped and pillaged. Very Kyle Wrightish situation to me.

Give me a break. Samford is an FCS team that did not win their conference last year. Toledo won the MAC.

They won the MAC and then got decimated in their bowl game by App State. And they lost Woodside and a ton of other talent.

If we don't absolutely roll these guys, we should all be concerned.

No backup is getting burn vs Toledo. This is going to be a game. We’re only -10. Don’t think were going to blow their doors off cuz it ain’t happening.

All of this plus one add on - He should have selected another QB, probably Jarren, in the Spring, and then used all of those months to bring the new QB up to speed.

I keep banging this drum and will continue to until he fixes the situation - Mark's mishandling of the QB situation for 2018, is by far his biggest blunder. It's not too late to ameliorate the situation, but time is running out and everyone with eyeballs is watching this unfold thinking, "Why didn't he fix this in the Spring?"

'experience' is the most over-rated thing in all of sports when that 'experienced' guy is bad.

This Toledo game is worrisome for me and most of it centers around 12

If you think that Richt, or any other coach would use some snaps taken during a game vs a glorified D2 school as justification to bench anyone, you're sorely mistaken. Of course Richt wants to move past Rosier, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to notice that with Malik, the team's ceiling is pretty low. That said, it's going to be a gradual transition, and Perry will have to take over as non-conference play goes on. I wouldn't be shocked if Perry saw some snaps this week, especially if Rosier struggles early(Miami should be able to roll Toledo, with anywhere near competent QB play). From there, the number will go up and up until conference play starts. That's how this is going to be approached, with Rosier the X factor. If he goes back to the flaming pile of garbage he's been throughout his career, Perry's chances will come a lot faster.

I think Richt puts seniority over talent. It’s not just the QB position; it’s every where.

If it is a push, then he gives the edge to experience. If it's obvious then he isn't afraid to plug in freshman. We've seen this quite a bit already. I respectfully disagree about the everywhere part.. mainly just QB.

People saying Perry didn't show you anything is ridiculous. Compare the ball distribution from Rosier against SSU. Compare the accuracy from Rosier against SSU. The incompletions from Perry weren't overthrown balls like Rosier. They were catchable.
