Hmmm...or WRs suck and our 190 pound RB is good in space, has decent hands and sucks between the tackles...hmmmm, its like if something needs to change

Who are these “every player” that regressed? None of the receivers are really the same considering last years freshman WRs barely got snaps. Knighton regressed because he isn’t as good as Parrish and TVD regressed. Will Mallory is the same. That’s all of the overlap there is on offense.

I do agree that we shouldn’t be 4-4, but this team definitely does not have talent. The core of this team should be the 2019 recruiting class (they should be our Juniors) and looking at the remains of that class should let you know we severely lack talent.

A few examples of how he was effective last year and could be this year. Imagine if he transfers to the right spot, he will have a nice career going forward, wish him the best.

Knighton aside cuz idk what the **** is going on with him. It's actually puzzling but then again Gattis has negatively effected everyone.

The play from the Knighton game is one that we need to utilize way more. Not enough passing plays have been called where the RB is an easy checkdown for the QB. And when it is, the QBs ignore it. It's like the QBs are not bein taught to take the check downs or to even look for them

hes not being used properly at all. the fumbles kill us though but you dont take him and run him between the tackles.

I've posted this before - and I get that "he's being used wrong" & "we need to run him outside the tackles" sound like they could be correct

But the stats show different. He's actually better running inside, although it's not a big difference. It hasn't been good in any direction.

BOTTOM LINE - Knighton isn't very good at running the ball because he insists on running directly into defenders. So until that changes, how & where you use him doesn't really matter.

You're assuming he should be featured as a rushing weapon. I always saw him as a dual running/receiving option. IMHO, his value would improve dramatically if he were taking screens and wheels, and being the primary on the check down.

I'm actually assuming we've seen enough where we don't need to use Knighton in the run game at all anymore. I'm fine with Lucious Stanley as the #2 guy

I agree - Wheels routes are where he really makes a difference. Getting him 1 vs 1 on a LB & getting him on routes where he's moving forward - that's where he's most dangerous. Screens are fine too, he's just better when he has a long runway (which isn't always easy to scheme).

To be fair - I think Knighton's speed is special, so he "can" hit some long runs. But those runs aren't very often, and his runs in-between are too ineffective. Add in the fumbling problems and the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

Dude averaged 3.9 a carry last year as RB1. That is very pedestrian. He’s not a RB1. Scat back is the term I’d use for him.

Some big drops this year as well. Dude has hurt us way more this year than helped us.

He aint it.... Parrish is better.

Not sure I even get the controversy.

Half of the fans don't think he should ever see the field again the other half blame his performance on the coaches.

Starting to think this board is nothing but the player's moms and dads.

If your saying Lashlee used him in a manner which allowed him to never be touched then yea, sign me up for that offense. Except that was 3 plays last year. Could he be used better this year, absolutely. Has he earned the coaches trust to be put in more situations?
 
I hope the benching paid dividends and he holds onto the ball. I think you have to find a way to play him Saturday and the rest of the season.

For a team that is so strapped with playmakers and struggles to both get in the endzone and get cheap yac or cheap scores, the guy is likely still the best option.
 
I’ve been critical of rooster this year but let’s use him way more on 3rd downs and passing the last stretch of the year he’s a problem in space. Gotta give 21 some plays off at some point lol

The scheme is dog ****. No doubt. That said, he's had fumbling issues his ENTIRE career and that's got nothing to do with scheme.

Assuming he holds onto the ball, he avgs <4 ypc. One poster said Cam Harris was pedestrian. Cam avged a full yard and half more and (if espn stats are right) he never fumbled. Cam Harris is head & shoulders better

And btw, 2 of those 3 highlights nobody touches him. Thats great, but thats not realistic for a RB. He's going to get hit at that position.

Been a long time since we've been good enough to overcome big mistakes. Last years season came down to a handful of plays. 2017 did too. Its going on almost two decades where one play is the difference in the game. We just cant overcome fumbles while getting < 4 yds a pop.

Last game is a perfect example. Absolute dog ****, but we didnt turn it over which gave us a chance in the end. If we give it to Knighton and he coughs it up... it's over

lmao he is not 180 soaking wet and only good in space if he's not tripping over himself.
