Rooster

Can we change Rooster's nickname to "Chickenhawk"?

Horribly misused. Rooster has a lot of talent. But we run him up the gut without even a zone blocking scheme or pulling OL most of the time. He's got issues with securing the ball. Deserved to have his role adjusted as a result. But we've ruined him. ... Thad, I'm willing to concede was a bad eval. I honestly still don't get it, think it's mental not physical. But Rooster, that's on Gattis.

I hope Rooster stays and simply works hard to change the narrative. He needs to understand that ball security for RBs is crucial and will land you on the bench until you correct it. Look at Melvin Gordon. Denver brought in a practice squad player to take his job bc he couldn't hold on to the ball.

Misused? Yes. “A lot of talent” is relative and debatable. He’s a nice scat back who is a good weapon in the passing game. He has the speed but he lacks wiggle/shiftiness of a RB1/RB2 type.

I wish the young man the best. Maybe he can find success in a slot capacity. Don't think he's wired or built for toting the rock as an RB. Maybe somewhere that will use him in space.
