Deen is out of eligibility after this season. He was class of 2018, so this is year 6 in school, and year 5 playing football.

Mesidor can come back, he’s class of 2020 so this is only his 3rd year that counts.

As far as kids who play a lot who are out of eligibility, I don’t think it’s very many:

Jaden Davis
Cam McCormick (right?)
TeCory Couch
Keontra Smiff
Tyler Harrell

I think that’s literally it as far as kids who have actually played meaningful snaps so far this year.
Can believe it or not has one more year. Couch, Keontra, Harrell, Deen, Davis are all done after this year.

And I think that’s literally it. Obviously we’ll have more kids move on than this, but there’s a chance we have a ton of returning production back next season.
Right man returning all of the OL would be fantastic. I doubt it happens, I could see Lee and Cohen test the waters.

If Lee does leave, I would hit the portal for a center.

That’s what I thought. There’s always going to be attrition, but if just enough guys (Tvd, kam, cohen, Lee) agree to come back we could be looking at something special next year.

I’ll refrain from trespassing on @rok’s schtick from now on

Getting some dudes to stay and hitting the portal for key pieces to a big run would be some fun.

Who else is likely to declare? Kam? JW? Is there anyway Miami can come up with like 10 mill to pay these underclassmen to return? Locking TVD in for a ‘24 run would be the momentum we need.
Leonard Taylor. So far he hasn't played like a guy that should declare early but if I had to guess he's gone...JW, Kinchens, Cohen, Lee, and TVD would be the others id assume would likely leave if their seasons continued to go well. I would love to have Van Dyke back next year just not sure it's likely. Also figured heading into the year that Mesidor would be gone with a huge year but not sure how many games he even gets to play now with whatever this injury is...would love to have him back again as well

Thanks.

I’d be trying to do what Clemson did & give them millions of reasons to return for one more year.
I'd love to have some of those veterans back. I think 24 could be Miamis year if the right guys return... I have no issue with guys leaving early if they are sure fire 1st rounders or maybe even 2nd round and know they are getting paid. But Miami has had far too many players in the past leave early because they were probably sold some dream that wasn't true. Most of those guys don't end up making it in the league but would have been big contributors had they returned to Miami. Maybe that changes now in the NIL era where they could potentially make more to come back to school

I think McCormick has a waiver to play indefinitely. He's already older than most of the staff.

Let's be real.

If TVD continues to play the way he's playing, he's not coming back. He'll be a projected Day1 Day2 guy. This stuff about it being a deep QB year doesn't matter. NFL teams are DESPERATE for QBs. If there are 10 NFL-ready QBs ahead of him (there aren't), who cares. He'll just be the 11th pick of the draft. That's how important good QBs are to the NFL. So forget about him coming back assuming he keeps doing what he's doing.

Cohen and Lee are gone. They're proven all they need to prove already. And under Mario/Mirabal, they are known as the glue that brought together a weak OL into one of the best in the nation. Shelf life of NFL OL is very very short. They need to take the money and run. So forget about them coming back as well.

Kam and JW definitely gone. Messidor and LT (who should come back as he's still unfinished) probably gone, Restrepo too since no more roomie throwing him the ball. Harvey, Rivers and George potentially gone. I'd focus on retaining those three and LT the most.
