Mello is my favorite recruit in this past class. People forget he was the first big Dade domino to come back into the fold during the summer stretch where it all went down, when we were still reeling a bit, and he totally committed with full Miami swag, with a 200 person block party and a live IG that showed ANOTHER video on a video truck in the hood that played his edited commitment video where his eyes turned into laser beams and he cursed. While everyone he knows and doesn't know went ape**** on his front lawn or something. Full Miami. No blockie.

That was a pivotal moment for the program, IMO that we will look back on. It was like he made it cool to be a Cane again in Dade. One of the core 5 blessed the program. Kitchens, Taylor, Smith and Williams came aboard soon after him.

Actually, it originated long before that. It’s biblical, in the Old Testament to be exact. I know, I used to hang with some Old Testament prophets, who broadened into sports, elections, stock market, etc., when Biblical work got scarce.

All I have to add is we have to hit the jackpot with one or two of these WR’s eventually right? I mean we have recruited high level WRs for years. Eventually a couple of these guys have to pan out. Redding, Restrepo and Brinson all seem to be showing signs. Harley was a nice surprise but before that the last good ones we had were Hank and Benji. I guess Berrios makes the cut.

Dorsett was a burner, Hurns was in the league for a while, Coley was super talented and Richards was elite. Our OCs have been horrific. Things are changing.

Let's not forget Jacolby George, early returns have been excellent first couple days of camp + he's already added about 16 pounds. If he keeps it up he'll find a way into the field sooner than later.

Sure. NCAA rules, I believe. If you're not in pads, you're not hitting/getting hit. The idea is to reduce the physical toll/concussions/injuries.
