Romello Brinson transfers to SMU

Romello is an absolute stud whose supreme talent was unfortunately squandered here at Miami due to the cack-handedness of the truly offensive staph.

The poor young man withered away on the pine while his far less skilled contemporaries saw extended opportunities.

I have no doubt he will find tremendous success at SMU where he will receive top notch coaching and mentorship from some of the brightest minds in the game.

Good luck Down South, compadre.

Bruh stop talking

Stud? U wylin and u my boy but u wylin

The meaning of stud is first rounder dominant on your cfb team. That's a stud to me, they be throwing that word around man

If he can put on weight I could see a decent career but right now he struggles when people get physical with him. I think it was the Pitt game where he caught a long pass but looked like a wounded lamb running up the field. 1300 would surprise me, even in Lashlees system.

OR Penn St has much better players already on campus than SMU (or Miami) and doesn't want our transfers. Not that Lash isn't more respected but I dont know if the transfer situation reflects that.
That's a very valid point but then serves to emphasize that Diaz was recruiting players that were 'SMU' caliber and not 'Penn State' caliber (and shouldn't have been considered 'Miami' caliber either). Either way, it's an indictment on Manny.

No need to beat a dead horse. I think we're all happy he's gone and hope that Mario can right the ship (remains to be seen).

They'll do much better than they did here just off of the mere fact that they'll be playing in a system that better suits them.
Did it actually suit them at Miami? Brinson didn’t do ****, Smith had average numbers, and Lashlee ran Knighton into the ground since there weren’t any healthy backs in 2021. 3.9 yards a carry isn’t good last time I checked.

You fools think Lashlee is the savior for these guys careers. Do I need to remind you he went 7-6 in 2022?

These guys didn’t do anything at Miami. There’s a reason they are playing at a G5 program and didn’t get offers to go to any power 5 schools once they hit the portal.

How did I lose the argument if we haven't seen his "speed" and "good hands" for two years here? Figured his lack of speed and awful hands were good enough for people to realize we aren't losing much with him at SMU. Character issues is the cherry on top.
Your argument is he is not fast because he didn’t produce. The two are mutually exclusive. Alabama is stocked with talent at WR. They would not have offered him if he did not run a legit 4.4. He hasn’t been injured since he got to Miami so how would he suddenly become slow? I never said Miami should keep him. Bringing character issues into this had nothing to do with my opening statement that he might actually excel at SMU. He very well may not but he has the tools.

How come all our transfers are going to these lower tier schools?

I thought this team was talented?
Romello Brinson is what - the 6th - Miami Hurricane to transfer to SMU...I'm curious where these guys end up if they don't find a landing spot with Lashlee? Surely, lower tiered than even SMU.

Also, all of them significantly dropped with their transfer portal prospect grade. All are basically mid-tier 3-star players after transfer.

As opposed to our transfer takes...all of which moves up in prospect grade.

He’s one of the guys I thought would help us this year. Supposedly, the issue was off-field stuff. Will be interesting to see if the SMU ‘culture’ allows him to show his stuff. Or, more likely, if how he looked here was more about the system he played in. And, yes, it can be both ‘off the field’ (sometimes based on rigid coaching perceptions) and ‘bad scheme.’ We shall see.
