reluctant to pull the trigger because if ZO improves the football then the credit goes to him and not James and it opens up the possibility for James to be replaced by the guy he hired.
That means he would have had to be prepared. Not sure if you listened to him on 790. The guy was never prepared but always ready to talk about "back in my day".This wasn’t a good interview. He could’ve pressed Blake a lot more with better formulated questions.
I have been trying to listen to "Lazlow and Amber" or whatever the names are. I wanted to get an update while I am here at work. However, I had to turn it off because she and the other dude are just horrible. That means he would have had to be prepared. Not sure if you listened to him on 790. The guy was never prepared but always ready to talk about "back in my day".
I’d trust Alonzo Mourning to be the AD over BJamesSo apparently both Alonso Highsmith and Alonso Mourning are in the running to be Manures *****. Interesting development.
Romberg dropped the ball. He should have been better prepared for the interview but Blake does sound defeated so thats a positive
No it doesn't. James would get the credit for hiring Highsmith—so that would be a resume win for him. Not to mention, he's in the BoT's good graced as a fundraiser and glad-handler.
Some of y'all really don't get that an athletic director's job is way more than just football head coaching hires. By many other accounts, James is doing a fine job—regarding an AD's title—and is well-liked by UM's top brass.
There's literally no way he wouldn't hire Highsmith because that type of football success would ultimately get hire fired. Completely non-sensical.
Nope. Highsmith has no interest in supervising women’s badminton. He has no interest in selling tickets, begging boosters for donations, nor dealing with NCAA compliance issues. He has no interest in 99% of Blake’s job. He is only interested in improving the performance of our football team on the field. There is plenty of administrative work for Blake and Jen Strawly, or whatever her name is.reluctant to pull the trigger because if ZO improves the football then the credit goes to him and not James and it opens up the possibility for James to be replaced by the guy he hired.
Blake dodged the question when Romberg asked him about Manny not wanting an Alpha around to be over him or he has to answer to.
What makes no sense to me is that James has to realize that bringing Zo in buys him a lot of time, because if anything goes wrong he can deflect the blame and pressure to him. But for some reason he’s still reluctant to pull the trigger on this.
