Romberg Fired (?) At 790

As far as Canes coverage locally on terrestrial radio it seems like we're down to Joe Rose and the local hour of Lebatard's show if Mike Ryan is running the ship and Dan is off looking for his morning dozen pastelitos.

Both of those platforms are flawed too in that Mike Ryan is just basically giving a fan's perspective and no actual information and while Joe Rose gets interviews and occasionally drops some Barry Jackson-esque nuggets he also thinks he's doing a national show and then (as established by you guys) gets exploited by the Luigis and the Cuckbos and even the Big and Slow Ten corches. Like why in the **** are we EVER hearing reports FROM Big and Slow Ten Media Days on the Canes flagship station? You can't even justify that **** by claiming local alumni bases like they do with UiF and FSU.

I actually enjoyed their show and generally found them funny. They do go overboard on Heat coverage. And Amber’s (and Zaslo’s) gator connection is annoying, but Rom’s handled them just fine I thought. But now, especially with UM-UF coming up, I have no interest in listening to all that.

at least right now, w entercom being such a big company (nationally), i can get why theyre sending people all over.
 
He will be better focusing on football commentary only if he wants his career in broadcasting. Maybe coaching? Maybe move from So. Fla back to Canada.
I thought he was a lot more intelligent and funny than his partners. He viscerally hated what Golden si to the Canes, so that is reason enough to like him.

Zaslow is probably the worst host on any show and the girl is seemingly there just to add a female perspective. She's not knowledgeable and serves only to pump up the gators.

Whenever I listem to them, I am ripping their gator talk via text. Romberg would love it and pile it on. As per Amber, she is an attorney and should friggin talk better than she does. I have heard females at Starbucks with a better vocabulary and speech presence. Zazlow is a slobber of the Heat and even though went to UF...is seemingly clueless about them...Romberg didnt act like a kiss *** or SJW to get some likes.

zaslow is a gator grad but he isn't really a gator. he doesn't really push for them (actually is more canes than anything) but he's all heat. amber is another story. i cant imagine she talks like that in court. she has more flubs than stu gotz
 
As other ppl have said, Leroy is the absolute worst. Non stop screaming and thinking he knows **** cause he played football 40 years ago. That fat fck producer on the midday show always clowns the canes too.

I’m curious what happened with Romberg. I don’t think it was the clowning of 560. That’s a bit they do for as long as I can remember. He hasn’t been in studio much the last 3 weeks and zaslow has been saying he doesn’t know where he is. I’m sure he just ran out of rope with the higher ups there.

So does every other major sports market. Go listen to a new york market and hear about the giants right now. I bet its a nonstop bash fest.

Amber is a lizard and knows virtually zero about sports. That show is unlistenable. Joe Rose show is almost as bad. Talk radio provides nothing for Canes fans.

I disagree with EVERYTHING he says and at this point I don’t know if it’s cause I truly don’t agree or my hate for him just doesn’t let me agree with him. Him constantly disregarding differing opinions because the other person didn’t play pro football and he did drives me insane. “Let me tell you something (insert terrible joke)”

sports radio is going the way of newspaper (in terms of traidiotnal sports talk). gotta go podcasts if you want a true and accurate breakdown

hes an independent contractor at 790, but he was supposedly on vacation for mini season and was expected to come back. zaslow just doesnt take vacations so hes always there. it was very weird as it came out of the blue tho.
 
so anyone get an inside story? wish someone would spill the beans bc that morning show literally had a fight on air before.

He wasn’t bad at all. Better than Zazlow. Romberg’s problem is he’s a meat head.
