Disappointed Roman wasn't able to go a bit more into the long 94 yard play. His insights are great and would have loved to hear him talk about the QB holding Hall between Metchie and Williams. I'll give a quick breakdown for those interested. Roman mentioned Gurvan and that "someone was in man coverage." There are multiple shots of what happened on that play.

Gurvan is outside of the boundary hash to the bottom of the screen (you can see him in the bottom left at about 14 yards). Couch and Ivey are in Man coverage. The two primary vertical threats highlighted are likely 20 yards apart.

If I'm not mistaken, Roman mentions there's "a little bit of a double move" on the play. I didn't see the double move. Bama's Williams easily releases inside and runs by his defender (Ivey) on his way to the corner (top left of the screenshot).

Gurvan is in the bottom left corner of the screen. Still in his backpedal with eyes on QB. He's still split between two vertical threats - Williams and Bama's super dynamic #8, Metchie (toward the bottom right of the screen, trailed by Couch). Williams has already begun his corner attack, and has already created significant separation from Ivey.

The ball is now released (in air). Hall stutter stepped out of his backpedal and I think some would fairly say he was a step late to decide to cover over the top and didn't get enough depth. He remained outside the boundary hash when he should have (in hindsight) probably moved toward the hash. I'm not sure he gets 100% responsibility on this one. Ivey is quite literally 4 yards behind. That's 12 feet. I'm not sure Sean Taylor gets to this ball over the top and protects Ivey (while protecting Couch against Metchie). Yes, there are certainly pre-snap alignments and better steps that could have been made, but this is overall (a) a good/simple design, (b) late reactions/processing, (c) overmatched Corner. Put that together with a nice throw and you have a 94 yard pitch and catch.
*By the way, for those of you wondering, this play had some (not all) similarities to Amari Carter lining up on the boundary hash against UF and Frierson getting bombed out of the field side slot by Franks.
