Roiser got the 1st team reps today

So the problem is having rules then.

The problem is having rules that are applied across the board. If Bar Milo ***** up. Kick him off the team. If Thomas breaks the rules you let it slide. If the NCAA may find out about it and its an NCAA violation you cover it up. If it is an NCAA violation and the NCAA finds out about it you do whatever you can to minimize blowback to the school and try to get the kid as short of a suspension as possible. This doesn't just apply to football. Every large company in the world breaks the rules and the vast majority(if not all of them) will help cover for top earners assuming it won't end up blowing up in their faces and costing more trouble in the end. Do you remember the whole Jeffries financial ordeal where they were covering up for one of the IB heads was caught numerous times going to work ****ed up, but they let it slide and then once he was actually arrested for it they ended up putting on a master class in PR and basically had no negative consequences of it(the positives outweighed the negatives. It is like when you see companies break rules because the fine is less then what they will save by not following proper protocol. If you get a fine of 10 million dollars a year for using plastic straws, but paper straws will cost you an additional 15 million dollars a year to use then you will keep using the plastic straws and pay the fine.

or like the whole Wells Fargo thing. they knew what was going on in the branches but didn't care cause the share price and company was doing well until it hit the fan then everyone had to go.

That's the worst statement of rules I've ever heard.

I'm not stupid, I realize that's how things mostly go, but pretty much every problem our society has can be traced to one person thinking they deserve a better deal than another for whatever reason. This is literally what's wrong with the world.

I don't want to get into a fight, or god forbid, a political discussion about this. Agree to disagree.

There's a difference between knowing these things happen and outright saying it's totally cool and we'll operate the same way. You have to choose who you want to be in this world.

I am not saying I agree that this is the proper way to do things, but looking at some of the most powerful and richest people in the country it seems to be the smartest way to do things. However, I was not talking about this morally. I was just stating why breaking the rules leads to better teams. If every other team was playing by the rules and Miami decided to cheat then I could understand being ****ed about it, but when Meyer is covering up for murderers, Jimbo covered up for rapists, god only knows what Saban, Dabo, and Kirby are covering up. Then you have teams like UNC making up classes for their players(I know its basketball, but what a surprise that the best basketball team also cheats) and then we suspend our best QB in THE game that would blast us into national recognition because he skipped a class then people question why we aren't back.

probably enjoys the fans scribbling on their message boards too
If I was involved anywhere in football where I was able to make decisions like this, I would **** with people so much lmao.

I can’t fault the logic, I just don’t think it has to be that way. Nobody’s called me nieve in decades, but I think there’s no reason why it needs to be that way at Miami. If kids are willing to put up with saban’s verbal abuse, then is it really too much to ask them to obey some simple rules? I’m not talking ncaa sht, I mean like don’t steal. Show up to meetings. Do your job.

By all accounts, some of the best coaches inspire loyalty while being comeplete A-holes. Why then would kids be unable to follow a guy who asks them to come to practice?

I just think it’s a cheap excuse to say that having standards is the reason we can’t win all the games.

I don’t see the problem with playing both..last time malik played he played well at Toledo which is better comp than at home vs FIU. Vs Toledo, Perry was gonna come in but malik was playing well and the O was moving the ball. Vs FIU perry was the hot hand and MR rolled with him..I actually like keeping both cats involved especially with malik being out the door next year and Perry being a RS fresh. My guess is MR is going to play both this week and roll with the hot hand. BUT If Perry gets in and balls 2 weeks in a row He will be the guy moving forward..but I like keeping both guys involved

The problem is that we (except you) all want to move on from any controversy. We'd like Perry to be the guy and leave no doubt and feel that giving him all the PT will aid in his growth as a QB and leader.

Actually some just hate Rosier, but those of us with a little objectivity left want Perry to succeed and think giving him more reps will help in that regard.

The problem is the low bar that has been set for Rosier. He completes 56% of his passes and no interceptions and he gets praise for "playing well." He played adequate. His level of play against Toledo isn't better than probably more than half the QBs in the FBS could have done.

Craziest part about our fanbase ...the only “controversy” exist within the fanbase. The same fanbase that booed Rosier as he took the field vs sav. St..I was there. To me, it was pathetic. If u see what is going on at bama/Clemson/uga and other places i can understand why MR is taking this approach. The funniest part is we have fans who pretend like talent is the only thing important at the QB. U literally have 1 guy who couldn’t be at the bowl game and another guy who was suspended at the opener. When asked why those two are getting reps now MR always mentions the other two have “grown up”. To me he’s clearly pointing too stuff on/off the field that those two were doing that wasn’t right from a prep and maturity standpoint..and then u got ppl here posting Perry’s stats against scrub teams to buffer their points. But when rosier has decent numbers against those type of opponents diminish them cause of comp, which is fair but should go both ways. Bottomline, 4me on thurs, I don’t mind if MR plays both guys and rolls with the hot hand. If Perry, who is more talented, does what he does last week and balls I HAVE NO DOUBT HE WILL START PERRY. But if malik does start, which would not surprise me at all, and plays well for I’m guessing the first 3 or 4 drives I’m cool to roll with 12.

Perry looks much better to me than Rosier, but what I want most is a win. There are guys I'd like to see do well, but as long as we win I don't care who gets on the field. I think that's a minority view though...most people get tied to the idea that this or that kid is the best and has to play. Secondarily I'd like to see Perry get all the snaps for experience because he looks like the guy going forward but not at the expense of the win.

As for talent, yeah people think that's the only thing. Nobody gave a sht if Perry knew who he was supposed to throw to, or where he was supposed to be they just wanted him to play because he's more talented. Right out of HS he was the answer because he looked good on film against HS defenses. A super-talented guy can miss all his throws because he doesn't know the play. Or get sacked because he doesn't know what the OL is doing. Or fumble because he doesn't know if he's handing off or faking the handoff. It goes on and on.

Whatever. Where we are right now, I want Perry to start and stay in the game unless we're losing and it looks like he can't get it done. In that case Rosier goes in and we pray he's got a little magic left.

I agree with all of this! Especially in our fan base or on this board they as if MR is playing rosier out of pitty or loyalty. Personally I’ve graduated from the thinking that the best way to quicken the learning curve at especially at the QB spot is too just throw them in the fire for live reps especially if they don’t have a grasp of D or the system they are running. It’s better to take the test when you’ve studied and prepared then it is to not study and try to take the test over and over again.. There’s more to bring THAT GUY then physical talent. Againt much inferior opponents we’ve seen perry fumble, have procedure penalties, and put the ball in harms way. Along with maturity issues those are the things MR wants him to clean up..I know for sure that pick against FIU was a huge no no for MR.

Nobody talks about the 'what if' scenario where Perry gets the start and starts off slow and Miami gets in the hole early. Would Richt put Rosier in? I hope this doesn't happen, I hope Perry comes out as on fire as last week..

Malik could well start for all I know. I'd start Perry, and just bring Malik in as relief if Perry happened to not play well.

Rosier has thrown a lot of no no interception. At least on the one Perry threw MR jokes about about calling it the best punt of the day
