Rumor Rod Wright to Texans

Ralph Street is a name to know if Jason decides to leave. He was Guidry’s DL Coach at Marshall for the last 2 years & also coached Terry Jefferson at FAMU his Junior & Senior year. Has good experience as both a LB’s & DL’s coach, as well as being a D Coordinator at both FAMU & PVAM.
I’m torn between good coaches & coaches who move the needle with recruits. Can’t lie. That’s ugly.

This Cat is a very good teacher per a couple of coaches up here in NJ.
On the flip.. If Guidry can get the defense to mirror what he accomplished at Marshall - then we'll be in good shape.
Optimistic to see a jump in rankings and style of play from last year's mess.

Results on the field move the needle...

Having a staff full of salesmen that can’t coach will end up in a repeat of last year.

DL’s in particular need good coaching, contrary to popular belief, even 5-star DT’s & DE’s don’t come out of HS as ready made products. DL’s are extremely reliant on proper technique & understand the specificities leverage, hand engagement & other details of the position in order to win their matchups. Simply being rated a 5-star is not enough to succeed in college, especially at DL.

These Superstar recruiters that you guys want aren’t being hired this go-round, because clearly Mario understands that having success on the field will be paramount in helping his recruiting strategy. Winning/NIL/Mario is the best recruiter we have, loading up a staff at crucial positions with dudes who can’t teach is like taking your car to an auto-mechanic shop with guys who only specialize in Paint. “We can’t fix your car, but we can make it look nice..” Miami doesn’t need a paint job...

The bold ain’t me. I want hybrids. Just unsure if Marshall’s D staff is the best we can do w/ our budget.

Tons of good coaches who can recruit.. convincing them to come here might be a different story lol.

IDK, maybe it’s me. I just don’t get the “Coach Joe” hate. Mario brought him to Miami; he’s worked with him for years. He clearly knows his strengths and shortcomings and valued him enough to bring him along. It’s pretty clear recruiting isn’t cut and dry by position. I personally don’t care who recruits the D-line guys. If keeping Joe helps keep Miami in the conversation with west coast/Poly kids, great! Let someone else close them
It isn't hate! He may not be a very good recruiter though.

Two DT's in 2 years in nowhere near enough.

I copied this paint job on my AMC Pacer with krylon cans from Home Depot.

Panty dropper.

Concvinced some of yall cant read. Mario clearly rates the staff he put together last year. All had credentials to put up against anyone. Intangible factors mean it didnt work. Not enough effort being put in, not enough recruiting and chemistry issues with each other. It didnt work. They not bad coaches, just didnt work here. Simple. When it dont work, you make a change. Miami is not automatic anymore, its harder and more effort to get a top 5 class than at UGA and Bama etc. You need workers on top of being qualified. U wanna blame Cristobal, sure. He is responsible for it. But he also takes responsibility by changing it. Why am i gonna go around mad at that when i would be mad if he kept the same bull. Unlike yall i dont think good coaches need 4 years to show they are good. You see it immediately and if effort is off, thats worse than incompetence.

Good luck to Wright.

More Moss talk though? That boys frame is light. I don't ever see him being a legit every down DE. People are talking metabolism and while that counts, he's more WR than DE build.
this is what i was referring to a few weeks ago when i said i saw him at Publix on a near 90 degree day with warmups and a ton of clothes. it appeared to me that he was almost hiding his body. everyone he was with were in shorts and t-shirts. it looked odd and it looked like he weight 180 pounds.
