The world has lost a truly great man today.

Coach Leach was not only a brilliant football mind, but more importantly, he was a genuine and outstanding person. He was a diamond in a profession that is inundated with narcissistic personalities.

He meant what he said, and said what he meant. Always unapologetic and true to himself.

He could have been a stand-up comedian, and made a killing at it. He had a great knack for telling stories, and a great sense of timing for delivering punchlines.

I believe that the true legacy of a man isn’t measured in how much wealth he accrued during his time here on earth, but on the number of lives that he positively impacted and touched. Mike Leach is a great example of this.

Prayers for his family and friends during these difficult and sad times. May he now rest at eternal peace for all eternity.

A champion of the understated personality and clinically dry humor. Also coached some ball and seemed like a genuine, humble, affable soul in a sport that tends to produce sociopaths and narcissists. He shouldve been on our screens for another 15 years at least. What a tragedy. What a loss.
Ditto... Love this.

My wife who is a big Toby Keith fan said Toby who was ML's good friend posted a touching statement on the Pirate's passing on Facebook.

Mike Leach will be truly missed, and fondly spoken of for many years to come, and in that way, he still lives.

Not only was he an offensive innovator, his acerbic wit and entertaining personality made him memorable and lovable to many of us. He will be remembered fondly by millions.

An unattributed proverb states: “Good men must die, but death cannot kill their names”

Rest in peace Coach Leach, and condolences and peace to his family.
