Riley possibility to USC

talk on the board that they are putting an extension together for him. Been in process for a few weeks.

Mullens is working on an extension for Cristobal. It's been going on for a few weeks now. Mullens and Uncle Phil are both 110% aware of the deals that have been offered to Tucker and Franklin. They believe Cristobal is the coach that can bring Oregon its first Natty. They DO NOT want to enter this years coaching couresal at all. This is a terrible year to be looking for a new coach. Point is, if all goes well, Cristobal will be given an extension if both sides can come to an agreement.
If cristobal sign to Oregon he will never coach at miami and he would lose his cane status in my eyes. I know he don't care what I think but that's how I would feel.

Oklahoma will go after Josh Heupel or Lane Kiffin, they wouldn’t bring in someone like Mario, his brand of offense is the exact opposite of what they want.
The question is - did Oklahoma know this was going down or are they as blindsided as the rest of us?

Holy ****, that's a big big big move.

USC, you're back.

The talent that state has to recruit from, that's probably the best match and biggest hire in a decade.

Riley with California QB's, WR's, RB's etc in the big budget glam center of the US, wow. With NIL deals, these cats can literally change the top of the college football world with him at the helm.

****, good day to be a Trojan.

I kept hinting that SC was going to be a big player in this. They hired a killer AD who was not w/ the bull chit. Fickell was their #1 target, but he’s a MW guy through & through. Once that stalled, USC’s board of regents was working w/ their AD to come up w/ 5 top names. Feelers were sent out. The LSU situation became a bidding war.

My boy have been on this.

Ehhhhhh, I'd pump the brakes on the "killer AD" talk. Read about the dude the other day, and I'd be surprised if He's batting .500 on HC hires, but props to Him for hiring Riley.

I suspect this will be the straw that broke the camels back for the new blood on the BOT that has been pushing for change. They've been playing nice with the old guard who ruined the program like Epstein and Lemonis, like compromising on letting a search firm help with the AD, etc. The new blood is going to point to USC and tell the dead weight on the UM BOT "Get the f*ck out of the way or get run over. We're not playing pattycake with you anymore."
From your mouth to g-d’s ears. 🙏

USC is a year ahead of Miami. They brought in a strong AD and he brought in his right hand man from Cinci. Bohn has everything underwraps and under control.

Yep. I was going to write that for those giving props to USC, what they basically did was keep their Manny for another year so the AD could get in place, marshal their resources, and make a run at the right guy. They showed patience. ****, Miami in theory needs to do that even more, so they have time to show the next coach they we are serious about increasing the resources the program has access to.

But people here aren't thinking straight at all, mass hysteria, so don't expect that fact to go over well.

And before the looney bin replies that I am advocating for keeping Manny, I am not. I am just showing how much disingenuous hypocrisy we have around here.

Im sure Clay Helton was buddies with the players and they all thought they were building something special..

One of my youngins played for Helton. He hated him b/c coming from a program like Serra, he was used to certain structures. Helton had every excuse as to y he wasn’t playing or in rotation, and everything that was asked of him, he did w/ limited playing time. Now, how he handled his exit from SC was totally on him, and how he didn’t pick himself back up is on him, but Helton had some locker room issues for sure. He was a good *** kisser from what I was told, and did just enough to cool down his seat.

Exactly my thoughts. Doesn't have to worry about joining the SEC, might even get Caleb Williams to follow suit. This administration needs to show the same balls and announce a competent AD and Urban Meyer as HC lol

USC went assassin mode and didn't really do any marketing to the fans or make any promises...then they go pull off one of the all time coaching coups.

Meanwhile, Miami promises a huge commitment to football while the dip**** BOT publicly fights and makes a mockery of the school. Now they might end up keeping Manny.

It cannot be stated how horribly run Miami is. I've never seen anything like it at any level.

Might happen as that's when his buyout reportedly drops. So why get upset on Sunday?
You don’t even know if that’s when his buyout drops.

USC is about to go on a run...

They have a really good QB room too, they’re just missing the right HC/OC combo, well they got it now.

The Pac-12 is on notice, Oregon had it’s fun while USC was swimming around in mediocrity for a few years, but that sh*t stops come next year, no way on Earth Oregon wins that garbage conference anymore with Riley at USC.

That’s BIG BIG props for SC, they literally just landed a top 5 coach & one of the best QB developers in the Nation.
This x about a billion. This isn't going to be some slow metamorphosis either. It's game over for that conference next year and Luigi is an absolute moron if he's delusional enough to think otherwise. Or he's just content cashing Nike checks.

Don't hold your breath!! lol

And we don't even have an AD yet LOOOOOL!

I wish we would do something instead of sitting around watching other schools make moves. They're too busy fighting with search firms to interview a director whom was supposed to be hired already. Watch OU hire Lane before we even have an AD in place.
