nd is good team so no shade ... but to act as if they're gonna easily replace riley leonard is a stretch ... he was their offense ... oline look better when you have a mobile qb ... they're now faced with a more traditional approach ... with a guy that hasn't taken a college snap ... cmon now

Said it in several threads. Denbrock’s last 3 teams, the QB has led the team in rushing attempts. That isn’t happening this year. Will they be as efficient on offense? Stay tuned.
every money down situation had leonard's prints all over it ... a break in protection turns into a 5-7 yard gain because of leonard ... he pulls a guy out of the box because of his running ability ... all of that is gone ... maybe the carr kid can add more to the passing game, but is it enough to offset all the mistakes leonard covered?

Carr ran for more yards in high school than Minchey.
So while neither Beck nor Carr are Michael Vick, they are both mobile enough to keep you honest with either a designed run or a defensive breakdown.

This is a tough disciplined team. Stop sipping the kool aid. There’s a reason their favored.

Not saying we’re facing a saban bama squad. But a good enough team where too many mistakes and poor execution will get you in a whole you can’t climb out of.
Not to mention that the zebras love them some notre dame.

Alright I'll say it. It's the Jordan Travis effect. ND is going 2-10!

Kidding.

Even with his ability to buy time, scramble, break the pocket, Penn st was able to get a ton of pressure. Think they had 5 sacks that game. Its time Bain produce like the hype he has always been given. Cant get fat off of that one clemson game against a freshman favorable matchup forever. This dude supposed to be leader on defense, hyped 1st round pick. We need a dominant performance from him.

they are a good team, said that in the first post ... but suggesting carr is anything close to riley Leonard in terms of running ability is crazy ...

it's not an issue of keeping you honest ... leonard was the engine ... he covered up ALOT ... watch the playoff games ... any short distance play was leonard, not love/price

lastly, comparing carr and beck in anything is wild ... 24-3 in the sec vs. hs stats ... cmon now

got some time today ... looked up some stats

nd vs georgia
leornard 14car 80yd
love 6car 19yds
nd total yards was 244, leonard accounted for 170

nd vs penn state
leornard 18car 35 yrds
love 11car 46yds

nd vs osu
leonard 17car 40yds
love 4car 3yds

i'm not saying we have those defenses, however i am saying that riley leonard was a HUGE part of their running game and offense in general ... and he's out of eligibility

I think Minchey will see time. Naming a starter is just a diversion. Someone has to start. I think they employ both to add the run element in there.

Most pundits thought Minchey was going to be named starter so Carr came as a complete surprise. So it seems like some pregame strategy to throw a little curve at Hetherman's game planning. Or I could just be reading too much into it. :noidea:
