Richt's wife paid?

I don't like Jon because of PERFORMANCE. If he was doing a great job I wouldn't care at all that he was related. But our QB room has been a trainwreck and without a strong resume to stand on, I don't see why he remains QB coach. That's the rub, not the fact it's nepotism.

There is nothing wrong with having family on staff. Nepotism though is FAVORING relatives or friends according to dictionary.com. If you hire a family member because they are the best man for the job and they will be fired, disciplined, etc. like you would to non family members than that is totally fine. However, when they are hired over someone purely because they are family or they receive additional slack that is where the issues arise.

She's getting something from the school, which to be fair, isn't all that unusual.

I was an administrator of a very large organization and worked in HR. Nine times out of 10 nepotism came back to bite you in the butt, but more importantly leaves you wide-open for harsh criticism and problems when things don't turn out well. I don't know anything about Kiffin's brother or his credentials for whatever his position is, but obviously his father has some impressive credentials & I can somewhat understand his hire. Regardless, it still leaves you vunerable. Jon Richt, however, was "appointed" without any credentials and we have obviously had a mess at QB.....so now nepotism has raised its ugly head.

... it's a "legitimate question" to ask if a head coach's wife is paid for her role as "waterperson"? No it's not—it's simply another inflammatory post from the anti-Richt crowd that sits around inventing reasons to trash the guy. This board has become a cesspool of negativity and snark.

Well, CFL, you are WAY OFF. I am an 80 year old female (yea, admittedly a little overweight) who attended the U and my late husband played halfback/fullback for the Canes in the late 1950's/early 60's when Curci & Mira were QB's. By the way, at this age and stage in life, I say anything I want direct to a person's face, let the chips fall where may. I am at the point where I despise political correctness which is probably why I like our current POTUS although I am a bit more polished than he is and certainly know when it is to my benefit to keep my mouth shut.
