Richt vs Coley

Just wait til Richt really opens this thing up vs ACC opponents, I think we'll move with even more tempo & stretch the field a whole lot more.

Idk if we've seen any 4 Wide sets yet, but when we really get the passing game flowing we'll be **** hard to stop, on top of the fact Walton will be running all over teams even more than he is now once the Playbook is fully opened.

Also, can't wait to see Mullins get some burn some time down the line.

Brad seemed to be more down-hill in his tempo this game. He needs to continue to get better. More urgency getting to the line and hitting them with the hard cadence. Kelly from Ole Miss does a good job.

Based on the situation I gotta believe the two bombs to Richards were reads at the line...out route at the stocks of the corner is way off, turn it up field if he tries to take that away.

Richt used that little bubble screen because he saw a match up problem. Coley just had it in his grab bag and used it because it was in his script or he didn't know what else to do.

It's nice to have a coach who sees a match up problem and takes advantage of it and makes the other team adjust for a change.

Coley would call bubbles and just throw them regardless of how many defenders were on the perimeter. That's why they would get blown up.

Bubbles aren't a play, they're an option. We're finally running them correctly, with inside zone attached to them, giving Kaaya the option to throw the bubble or hand the ball off to the RB. We're taking chunks out of defenses.

Like a few others here, you are hitting on a theme: Coley appeared to not have a "system-wide" look at calling plays and Richt clearly does (at least thru x3 contests)...

With Coley, it almost seemed at times (and this is unfair) as if he was just randomly hitting the "x" or "triangle" button on the play station controller in Madden when he would call a play. This impression wasnt helped by the infamous "right half back toss, then half back pass in the snow" play that we all cringed at during last year's bowl game.

With Richt, and we have all commented on this, he is giving defenses "a thousand cuts" with his tactical calls in response to what the D is giving him at that moment. Vertical game not working and your DBs are off our WRs? Fine, here is x5 straight RPO bubbles and the result is x3 straight 1st downs. Oh, you now what to crowd the box and/or press our WRs Ok, back to the mid-long vertical game in the one-on-one matchup. Chunks of yardage result. Mix that with his short attack, and punishing so far run game...Miami is comfortably up with 3 Ws...when a Golden/Coley led scheme might be 2-1...or 3-0 with too much 4Q drama.

Another point that hasnt been talked about that is greatly benefiting Richt: Diaz D scheme.

By no fault of Coley, D'Nos D was not giving Coley's O as many chances with the ball as Diaz's D is giving to Richt's O. I dont think the point can be stressed enough...Canes D giving the Canes O the ball at a much higher rate is a HUGE contributor to this year's Canes O success.

These calls brought me back to golden's first game. Maryland was killing us by those swing passes. I lost my confidence on golden and NoD after that game.
Those calls brought me back to last year. Except we were on the other side getting beat down by Clemson.

A big difference is when and why he calls the play. Cmr sees the dbs for Appalachian state were way off the line and the slot corner was leaning towards the los so he exploited it over and over

Coley just calls the play for the sake of calling the play
This + as noted earlier, we're actually seeing WR's blocking downfield on these bubble screens. Just better strategy and execution all around.

Never was a fan with James Coley's penchant for the quick out to the sidelines...Mark Richt actually made a believer out of me with the way he and Kaaya executed it time and time again...The difference is the downfield blocking by the receivers who should get a shout out for their performance against App State DB'S

The difference is that we are in the honeymoon stage with Richt. I wonder if you'll still love the similarities when we lose a game. Stop being so ******* fickle, the lot of you. We're good as **** and this is fun, why do we need to over analyze? Just beat Ga Tech and lets stay scrong if you scrong.

while this post was not what i initially thought, lets stop and just enjoy this. We have a proven coach, he aint perfect, we will lose at some point, but right now we are undefeated and i am looking forward to beating the dog chit out of the Georgia Institute of Technology

Has Miami ran more than a dozen plays the first 3 games? I have a feeling Richt is going very conservative.

**** Coley! Best thing he did was find Kaaya. Thanks, now good riddance! CMR will take it from here and get Kaaya over the hump.

Same play: old guy didn't know when to run it, new guy does. Didn't work for the old guy, works for the new guy. WTF is fickle about that?

We're basically playing "beat the guy in front of you" offense right now. We're not trying to outsmart ourselves or the opponent right now, and quite frankly, there's no need to.

After beating Florida agriculture and mining, Florida Atlantic and Appalaichan state, there is a post, "the difference between [our coach] and [unemployed bum] is the downfield blocking of second split receiver..." No, that's not the difference.

I understand I'm willingly exposing myself to CIS for punishment and not sure why I keep coming back.

One of those bombs was a "sluggo". (slant-n-go)
