Richt talks team, injuries, Toledo

He’s dead set on Rosier because he’s done a horrible job of signing/developing top QBs for about the last 6 years now. The backups are clearly more talented than Rosier, yet Rick can’t get them ready to play over a really poor QB.

Bingo. Richts qb issues didbt just start here, it was an absolute **** show at Uga the last few years. I’ve never gotten the whole “ qb guru” talk with him.

“They are getting better fast because they are playing.”

I wonder if the same would hold true for young QBs.
Thank u..... but will blame everyone else for rosie's shortcommings. What quarter back on the planet isn't better with a clean pocket n receivers open and catching. The problem isn't there its who gives u the best opportunity with ur team. Not rosie! Also it works both ways if we had a QBs that didn't make our pass catchers display a contortionist event just to catch the ball I'm sure they'd catch at a higher rate! Its maddening!

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t disagree with you.

FWIW I think Malik gives us the best chance to win a game right now as well.

However, we’ve got some actual QB talent that just needs to play. We’ve seen all Rosier can offer. He is maxed out and has zero room to improve. He will simply get luckier some weeks than others, that’s just the way it is.

We’ve got some marginal games that aren’t necessarily cakewalks. Time to start thinking about next year and the future

Just my opinion though
And that’s the point, if Richt let’s Perry get meaningful game experience against Toledo and FIU, come FSU Perry could very well give us the best chance and overtake Rosier

There really is no benefit to having Rosier play much in the next 2 games

He gets too much credit for guys Bowden recruited and even guys that Brad Scott coached.

He was hit and miss at UGA. You could make a pretty strong argument he underachieved with Stafford, who has become one of the best QBs in the NFL. Stafford should have been one of those transcendent QBs at UGA.

Rick is a great man and a good solid football coach. He’s a 9 to 10 wins per year coach, which is what he’s always been. That’s what I said about him before we hired him, and he’s done nothing to change my mind. He’s got a 17 year track record of being that, and Spermy Fart has proven you can win some important games at UGA.

I think the game has passed Rick by to some extent because he seemingly makes things too complicated for QBs. It’s either too complicated, or he does a poor job teaching the system because there’s no other legit reason 1 of the 3 backups hasn’t unseated Rosier. We don’t scheme the run game very well, and we struggle to protect the passer because things take too long to develop.

If had to guess, he probably thinks Rosier really gives us the best opportunity to win. Which makes me wonder where Perry is at in all this. Is Perry not ready? If so, then why not? If our Offense is too complex for Perry to run and is this infective in general, then we are ****ed.Sad part is, he’s not even going to give Perry some drive opportunities.

I will say this, for the first time since CMR has been here, he has started making some weak Golden like excuses for our Offense. Not the trend I want to see in year 3.

I think the answer to the question about Perry and why he isn't ready came from CMR himself in his post Savanah State game press conference yesterday. He specifically said when he gave Perry the play (where he threw the interception) he told him what the defense may look like, what to expect. In other words, CMR gave him the pre snap defensive read. Turned out that wasn't the defense SS showed and instead of recognizing that, Perry still threw the ball per the play without making an adjustment and ended up with an interception. I don't think the issue is the playbook, the offensive scheme or anything having to do with actual skills; the issue is reading the defense to manage the game. We know that Rosier doesn't always recognize the defense either - or perhaps misreads or misinterprets what he sees but clearly Perry is not even at that level. That's my take on what is going on.
