Richt responds to criticism, preps for Duke

I have no problem that we supposedly have 8 plays. My problem is the coaching behind those 8 plays. Good teams score the points they do because they execute at a high level. So what the **** are we coaching our players to do that they can't execute?

When Chip Kelly was at Oregon he admitted to only running a handful of plays out of different formations. But the combination of their pace, play-calling and execution of those plays is what set their offense apart.

I read the article from SI that somebody recently posted about Kendall Briles at Houston. They don't even have a playbook. They just have a combination of fantastic play calling in-game as well as great execution. Richt has no feel for the game as a play caller and that's very obvious to us fans, as well as opposing defenses by the way our offense has been shut down these last two seasons.

So maybe execution is off, but that is 100% on the coaches; Richt, Jon, Brown, Seareles, Dugans and Hartley. Something needs to change on the offensive staff because there's no reason Houston with a former WR playing QB now should have a much more dynamic offense than we do. There's no reason with the skill players we have that we shouldn't be averaging 40 points a game. Just looking at the teams who score more than we do a game and you can't tell me that all of them have better OLs, and skill players than us.
To be an elite offense he’ll yes execution is huge which definitely goes back to coaching.

You don’t need to execute perfectly to throw more than 45% completion. The excuses are getting Golden-esque.

If they don't execute you have 2 options.....

A- get players who do execute

B- Change the offense so the players you have can execute it......

NO OTHER OPTIONS

He’s so sure his plays are great, he’ll just have to import some new players to run them. As good a corch as he is reputed to be, you’d think there would be a caravan of kids tryin like all heck to get to coral gables to run this guy’s beautiful play for him.

just remember this is the guy who stated,''rings collect dust''....

OK, I rescind my comment that Richt's offense is Blockbuster Video in a Netflix world because that's an insult to VHS

What Richt is running is akin to film strips(you remember those right? The things we used to watch back in elementary school back in the waaaay olden days on a white projection screen)

Thats what we are currrently

Again, this is 'Richtbation'....

Naaaaaaaaw cuddy. That would be disrespectful to the film strips. Richt is a zoopraxiscope; giving the appearance of a motion picture, but it's nothing more than a rotating piece of OLD steel reflecting light on painted images.

Those coaches with the execution bs.
You could draw up a play where Matt Pipho is one on one blockIng Lawrence Taylor without any help....and when it doesn’t work blame Pipho for not executing

Man, this is classic Richt. It was always execution that was to blame when he was at Georgia.

When he hired Jeremy Pruitt as DC, one of Pruitt's biggest themes for improvement was simplifying the defense and working on fundamentals. He had a quote that Richt should have taken to heart: "If we can't execute it, I'm not going to call it."

At some point, you have to call the plays your players can execute. If they can't execute any of them, then that falls on you, too; because what the **** are you doing in practice?

Yes!!!!! You Sir know WTF u R talking about. I bet Pruitt has all kinds of flowery words for Richt.

Exactly, or as Ive stated before: run the wishbone with Dan Marino and ask him to 'execute' the option.

Again, we're not asking to defeat Bama or Clemson this season but be able to break the 20 point barrier vs UVa and BC, for pete's sake

My issue with his stance that players aren’t executing is then why do you continue to play them. How many passes must Dee Wiggins drop before you pull him? It’s even worse with OLine play. If these guys aren’t executing pull them and give someone else a go. At least the other player gets game time experience and these so called underperforming starters understand their job is in jeopardy!!!

Richt has been out coached all year and Diaz was out coached last week vs Bc so yea the staff is coming together (((yawn)))

Caqn somebody slap this $^$$! for me?

Too bad most of our ****** fans won't go to the game and the players/recruits will notice

Oh no...we might miss out on another of Richt's terrific 3 star recruits.

Not only is he an abomination of a gameday coach, but he can't recruit for **** either.

There will be no material difference on this recruiting class because kid's are front runners and follow success. Since Richt can't prepare this team to beat anyone with a heartbeat there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

The best coaches adjust game plans to the talent they have. Richt absolutely sucks at that. He's way too conservative on the field for me, never takes chances or fakes, that's why he never won the big one. I'm disappointed with the hire, I didn't want him from day one. Unfortunately I think we're stuck with him for a while, he's not the one.

you don't know what you're talking about. But that's not news for anyone on here

Carry on

The next thing you say on this site that is correct, will be a first. You're a Don Bailey Jr cheerleader.

And yeah, our recruiting class sucks. The University of Miami is geographically located in THE most fertile recruiting ground in the United States. We should NEVER have a class ranked outside the top 10 and a good recruiter would consistently be pulling in top 5 classes.

But then again, that scenario would involve a concept foreign to Morky.....WINNING.

Here’s the problem, plays aren’t working and aren’t being executed because the opposing defense knows what we are going to do and the simplicity of the offense is rearing it’s ugly head. They have a bead on what we are going to do every single play, do some misdirection so they could have unclog some of that up the middle every time we do the SAME zone read play. Putting motions in our offense will create better opportunities for our players.

Richt is also trying to run a spread but predetermine reads before the plays which is why we struggle so **** bad throwing the ball. What spread offense you know operates like that? Richt is trying to run something he don’t know how to run and it’s holding us back
See how the motion drawed that safety on the play? It’s mystifying why we haven’t done this much all year until ******* duke ...
