Richt........please scrap the FB dive play to Gray

Would like to see us fake the give to Choc at FB and hand to Lingard at HB. Let Choc get up to the second level and lead the way for Lo to hit the hole and then turn on the burners. Especially late in the game or after being on the field for a little while. Nobody catching that dude from behind or making a play on him in space.

Yes we did for like an 8 yard gain. Plus it also keeps the LB’ers honest if they have to worry about the dive.

Wrong, no way for Gray to get to the flats on that play. We must be talking about different plays.

It was Savannah. I'm sure there's some variations that they may have in the bank for bigger games but just handing it to Choc was enough to get the job done against a cupcake. Other teams have it on film now, so it's something they have to prepare for that they didn't have to prepare for last year. Every extra wrinkle helps.

Nah, OP. I think it should stay.

Regardless, if it is never run again at least it's on film now working effectively. Now, it has to be accounted for by the opponent.

(LOL, DTP and I are on the same wave length but you beat me to it!)

I formation. Gray at FB and Homer HB

Fake to Homer. Gray fakes a block on the edge defender.

Pass complete to Gray in the flat for 9 yards.

Shut up and listen when grown folks talking.

I liked the play, but I think we ran it too much. It was like every time Gray was in the backfield at fullback, you could tell what was coming next. However, if that was all just a show to set up other plays out of that formation in the future, then that’s a different story. Overall, it’s a good idea, but it’s all dependent on the offensive line.

I know BITD He used to throw a lil' pop pass to the TE off of it. Matter of fact, Morgan picked Weinke off on that play in the 00' game right before the half.

Wrong play genius, I'm talking the play where the Gray hits right in the A gap. Rosier hands it to him, Not a play action to Homer. Pay attention Sally. Not one time that a or any game has the QB faked to the Fullback in the A gap and hit him in the flats.

Me: "Didn't we fake it once and hit Choc in the flat?"

You: "No"

Another poster replying to me: "Yes we did for like an 8 yard gain. Plus it also keeps the LB’ers honest if they have to worry about the dive."

You replying to that poster: "Wrong, no way for Gray to get to the flats on that play. We must be talking about different plays."

I don't know what you're talking about, but I'm talking about the play above. I even added this in another post in case you are still confused.
"I can't remember if it was a fake to him or the deep back, but it worked. Picked up a few nice yards and set up the first 1st and Goal."

You're correct regarding the play above, no issues with that play. We are talking about two different plays. Richt used to run it a lot when he had William Floyd at Free Shoes.

OL got push and Flyod hit the hole like a mad man. Miami's OL gets zero push and Gray dances too much

Richt had zero confidence in calling pass plays that’s why he ran that fullback dive a ton

That's good football right there.
One thing I noticed on that play that I did not like.
Look at the 2nd slide again. See how the LB get's sucked in on the PA fake?
Now look at the 3rd slide. See who Homer blocks?
Instead of meeting the LB in the hole to carry out the fake, he runs over to block the same guy that Choc just blocked out of the play before he released to run his route.
The LB ends up getting a free shot on the QB and almost ends up costing us a chance to make a play.

That is unacceptable.
