Richt........please scrap the FB dive play to Gray

Why?

3rd and 1 - Gray for 5 yards, first down
2nd and 1 - Gray for 5 yards, first down
2nd and Goal - Stuffed - yeah, it was the OL fault.
1st and Goal on the 2 - Gray for 1 yard...next play Rosier with a QB Sneak for a TD. I'll take this scenario 10 times out of 10 versus some of the nonsense we saw from Goal to Go Situations from Miami last year.

Not sure I see the problem here, yet, but sure, interior and Gray not exactly being a brute is a cause for concern...lets just see it in real life first.

Would actually like to see this against a better team in similar scenarios before drawing a conclusion.

Sometimes I'm not sure what planet some fans are living on. The full back dive has been one of the biggest adjustments this year after our short yardage offense was non-existent in years passed. I think we might run it too much, but it's a good set to have.

I just Feel like it will be a play that richt will use too much and it gets repetitive and or predictable and not work as good as it would if you can actually surprise the opponent with it
So you're going to worry about something that isn't happening or might happen in the future? Gotta love our fan base...

Go Canes!!!!!

In case everybody hasn't been watching Miami football for the last 4 or 5 years, the short yardage offense has been straight doo-doo. The dive play with Gray has actually worked almost every single time it's been called. I'm OK with it. It sure beats having Malik throw the ball on third and one.

Isn't handing the ball to a fullback in short yardage exactly what fans have been clamoring for, for a while now?

I agree with DTP above - would rather see that on 3rd an 1 every single time than Malik going back to pass.

****, I'd like to see it on 1st and 10 rather than trying to run Homer up the guard's *** or a bubble screen.

My stream from watch ESPN stop working a few times early in the game so I may Have missed that
It was early...Rosier was still in...and I can't remember if it was a fake to him or the deep back, but it worked. Picked up a few nice yards and set up the first 1st and Goal.

I liked the play, but I think we ran it too much. It was like every time Gray was in the backfield at fullback, you could tell what was coming next. However, if that was all just a show to set up other plays out of that formation in the future, then that’s a different story. Overall, it’s a good idea, but it’s all dependent on the offensive line.
