He’s got some decent picks in that lineup. Not bad Richt
I don't see why this is thread worthy. Most think Miami will lose
I wouldn't expect a win either way with the amount of quit this team has. It's not even quit, really. They never got going enough to quit. They just never show up at all. That may be it as well but same result: young players get game experience and old players/old mindset are phased out. Either way, I'm not expecting a win.. It's like a glorified spring training game in my opinion
richt was a very good coach. we got him too late. he fell off after around 2004-2005. still strong enough to win 10 games and recruit but he was clearly burned out. he never had a break from coaching. how many coaches coached at a high level that many years straight starting with FSU through Miami?
Not true he was a hair away from winning the sec in 2012 and then putting a whooping on ND in the National championship game. I’d say after that heart breaking loss to Alabama is when richt lost his steam.richt was a very good coach. we got him too late. he fell off after around 2004-2005. still strong enough to win 10 games and recruit but he was clearly burned out. he never had a break from coaching. how many coaches coached at a high level that many years straight starting with FSU through Miami?
I’m not saying he was a title winner and not a choke artist. He’s a very good coach. Not greatI've know Mark since he was Boca. He is really good man and I like him a lot. However, he is missing that it thing a title coach needs. He is not big enough for the moment. His best start ever was 2017 here at The U, 10-0. That was his moment to seize. Ranked # 2 and we owned the news cycle. Then he loses to Pitt and it was over. Win that game, put up respectable game against Clemson then win a winnable OB game against WI and recruiting leapfrogs to top 5 or maybe 3. That was his moment. Hey, beating Clemson would have moved him toward Howard level but I doubt that team could have done it. But he had to beat Pitt and WI. Then all **** would have broken loose. But, as was his history, he could not stick that dive.
Had Mark come here earlier when Butch players were still around, maybe it would have been different but I doubt it. Sure No even Mark could have ***** up the first NC Coker won. Then again that is not certain. What if he crushed Ed's gambler moves? That team was run by Ken and Ed. What if Mark didn't allow that? I assume anyone could have won that title but mostly it would be to do nothing. I guy that has a proper way to cut and eat a sandwich does just leave thing alone. All that said, Mark and Howard are the two coaches we have had that would always be welcome in my home.
Way more disciplined than manny Shannon or Golden’s teams my dudeU don’t remember the 400 offensive penalties per game?
It’s a shame he didn’t cede control of the offense to an OC and hire a legit DC to replace Diaz once he left.
He was by far the best coach we’ve had since since Butch.
With two solid coordinators, we could’ve been really good.
They did those picks on ACC network the other day. Richt doesn't look right; movements and talking seems much different than others guys on the set.
