Richt on QAM this morning...

We really have to look no further than Bama to see how coaches adapt to change. Saban has adapted to new offensive mindsets and has changed his defensive recruiting as well. Look at what Purdue ,Maryland and TCU did to OSU
and what OSU did to Harbaugh who runs a version of Richts antiquated Offense.
Look at Kelly at ND changed staff and made scheme changes..... 12-0 rolling into playoffs
change is everywhere and Richt is being a stubborn and is starting to look more and more like his mentor
with nepotism hires and failure to adjust to the new era of offensive football

Absolutely this. Richt's wettest dream is of us playing Harbaugh type football and that simply will never get it done when put in a shootout or are playing from behind. He is completely ignorant to what today's trend is AND to how to best use the players he currently has and area he's recruiting most out of.

I think he can survive another year with him as the OC as long as he adjust the base offense to a spread system. Then if it doesn’t work after that he can hire an OC for the 2020 season.

Dude stop, yer killing me. These are the funniest post I've seen on here in months.

Because Richt doesn't think his offense is the problem. Something for you to chew on:

I’m sure Richt is planning on making adjustments and he already has with going to a spread as his base formation against Pitt. Maybe he hires an OC we’ll see in the off season.

BUT the overall ranking isn’t completely on him... that side of the ball had more issues since he got here, I’m sure he didn’t realize the situation at OL was that bad, I didn’t either but it really is when all of your vets aside from Boulware are trash.

And also issues at the QB position making it worse.

This is like Bizarro Donofrio.

The key difference is Golden and Donofrio didn’t have gaping wholes on that side of the ball and always had talent... they just decided to play patty cake and pretty much ruin as many players as they could try to during their time at UM.

The offense under Richt got issues but better QB play, having a clear starter at the position, and better Oline talent to work with the results would’ve been much better imo.

He went spread because he doesn't have one single TE on the roster at the moment. He didn't go spread because he thought he needed to change things up. He went spread because he was forced to.

Also, that side of the ball didn't have more issues when he got here. Golden at least had average-to-above average offenses when he was here; it was his defenses that were god awful and slow. Golden ran a read and react 3-4 defense that was predicated on bend and don't break. In year 1, Manny did wonders and every year his unit has gotten better.

He’s a loser. He’s fine with putting up pedestrian numbers as long as he can sneak out with wins. Problem is he can’t beat any good teams with that trash offense of his and will even lose to some bad ones like he did this year. That offense leaves no margin for error.

He isnt going to come out and say a change will be made but a few of his comments make you think he isn't making any changes.

.
To me, when he told Kelly Bryant that he was keeping his pro style offense, that tells me, he isn't changing much of anything.

He didnt tell bryant he was keeping the offense. He told bryant about what they are doing now.

completely agree with this there has been no margin for error since richt got here

Et tu Brute? ... I'm not there yet. The guy hired a super-aggressive DC, so and has gone for it on 4th down several times this season. I don't think he's afraid to take risks. Richt may be too stubborn to change. But if he is making a change, he's not going to say anything publicly until he starts a search, if even then. ... Now, if he sticks with himself as OC and his son as QB after the bowl game, then I'm on board.

Move Jon Jon to an admin position and get a real OC/QB coach.

This. Richt could actually coach the QB, which he likes to do anyway, and that would let him keep coaching, instead of stepping back from it completely. They have the money to get an elite OC. If they went out and got somebody to bring in a high-powered offense, the salary would get paid back several times over by ticket sales and bowl revenue.

Except Perry isn't the dude an Jarren didn't know the offense; all that post says is he needs a better QB and OL. If he can't evaluate and attract top-notch talent, which he has his entire career, then he's become a liability for the team and []__[] need new leadership.

Well, when the previous regime's players are graduating and leaving the program, yours (Richt's) are starting to take over. You're supposed to be going in a positive direction, not a negative one. In this event, why hasn't Manny experienced the same decline? Why going into year 4 do you not have a proven QB then? If QB development's a problem, why don't we evaluate the QB coach then? If OL is the problem, why don't we evaluate the OL? Why did UF have dumpster fire of an offense, QB, OL last year, yet they've performed better on that side of the ball this year in Mullen's first year?
