**** Samantha Ponder. Her husband threw up the U and did a throat slash against us.

Yeah I would very much like to do that to sam ponder

Yeah, you right

Bump. Had watch espn up and everything and got busy at work right when he came on ****

Nothing ground breaking, but from what I can take, Blake James/Miami is willing to SPEND $$$$

Richt kept bringing up the fact that he has the right support from the Admin.

Desmond Howard asked about asst coaches being named: CMR mentioned having the "right people" in place, not necessarily fast hires, in terms of the asst coaches.

Oh, and Coach definitely was selling the program: He wore shorts and a pullover. Said, "when you live in paradise, why not dress the part"

Nothing much really.... Just talked about the hiring process and about not being fast but being right about things such as staff hires. Nothing groundbreaking as expected.

He talked a little bit about the transition from UGA to Miami. About why he chose Miami. He said again about coaches that he wants to get it right and not fast. He thanks Blake James and the school for their support in helping him out together the staff. And he talked about discipline and how he goes about it.

He loves throwing up the U! True cane!

He didn't really say anything substantial but it's great to have a coach you believe in again.

Amen, I'll 2nd that.

Came on wearing shorts, said he didn't think he'd be out in the open but when you live in paradise you might as well wear shorts every day (nice recruiting shot)
Talked about how this was the only job he would take otherwise would have took a year off
Mentioned again that he came here because it's a place where you can win
Talked about the complexities of putting together a staff, rather be right than fast, didn't go into much detail
Talked about the match ups for the playoff and how you keep the teams together after suspensions (Clemson)
Threw up the U at the end and even got Pollack to do it
Was very positive segment overall by ESPN

Was more about appearance and exposure than any new information which is not bad, it's a good thing.

Where does Desmond live? Mentioned he and Richt were neighbors.

Richt up next

Please summarize his interview cuz I am at work. Thanks in advance.

Sorry if this is rambling or with typos--posting from my phone.
He was calm and cool, as usual. No sweaty forehead. Didn't look like a buffoon in an oversized shirt and tie. Shorts and tee. Mentioned that he dressed this way because he lives in paradise--why not.
Asked about how this job is different than Georgia. Mentioned that, for him, he was going in blind at Georgia--only knew the Bobby Bowden way, and followed it. Now he's seasoned and knows what he's doing, knows what he wants and what to expect (with some exceptional situations).
Asked about the job and why he took it. Said he received messages from tons of former players and wanted continue helping mentor and shape young men.
Asked about whether any other job would have been preferred. Said no. Miami was unique in that he believes they can win here and also it's his alma mater--job wouldn't be here next year.
Asked about assistant coaching hires. Said he doesn't want to be fast as much as he wants to be right. Lots of coaches that are very interested in coaching here. Also (this is key), highlighted that it's more than just the coaching staff that's important, he really needs to get the right support staff in place. He mentioned director of football ops (I think, but can't be sure if he mentioned strength program too).
Asked about approach to big games and winning playoff games. Said that it's less about making spectacular plays and more about executing the plays you do and your gameplan with excellence. Also mentioned that often the spectacular big plays are just normal plays that are made at really key moments.
Asked about team discipline (in reference to Dabo suspending 3 players right before the game). Said that Dabo is being wise in that he's being consistent and not treating any player differently than the others (ahem, the Urban Meyer way of destroying a team).
Guys wrapped the interview by telling him he'll have to get the U back into championship games like the playoffs. He seemed supremely confident and cool throughout.
Dude has that Schnelly kind of quiet and cool confidence. I can't think of any other current coaches that have it like him.

This. Every time. It got old after his first interview. Always looked like he was so stressed out over simple questions. Must have left a sweaty imprint on a lot of recruit's couches.
