Richt Haters?

Not a hater, he is a good dude. slightly above average coach. Not who I wanted, but he did improve our record 1 game over last year.

Diaz is the MVP of a coach though, need to keep him. Some bigger schools may come calling after seeing what he did with our defense this year. We might have to ante up some.

Im impressed he got the team turned around after that 4 game losing streak. The team had the mentality before he arrived that the fsu game loss was the end of the season. They would play timid and end the season on losing streak. Im glad he got them out of that slump this year. Next years momentum along with coaching should lead to a 10+ win season.

I'm actually a fan but Il admit that his offensive play calling can be downright atrocious at times. He needs to either become more consistent or hire an actual OC

It was year one. He was hired to not go 9-4 every year. If he goes 9-4 every year, fire his ***. Jesus ******* Christ people. Slightly above average coaches don't do what he did st UGA. Shannon was 5-7 in year one. Golden was 6-6 in year one. Richt matched both of their best years (and won a bowl) in his first year.

When you lose 4 winnable games in a row (especially when one of them is putrid Notre Shame), mostly as a result of play calling, then the criticism is warranted. HOWEVER, he did a great job of turning this team around and finishing the season strong. Not many coaches can stop a 4 game slid like he did and turn it into a 5 game win streak. Overall, could have been better and it could have been worse, so I am happy with the season, but we better win the Coastal next year.

Lets not even do this bull**** again.

Good season ended on a great note. Lots of work still to do.

No reason to fight amongst ourselves after a win 10 years in the making.

Celebrate.

That first quarter was horrible.... but we rebounded nicely. I wanted another td at the end though

Offense still needs work, but defense is lights out. If he runs the spread all year we beat FSU easy. Hope he learned from that abortion.

Miami fans should be grateful for MR and stop comllaining about his offensive calling
or recruiting. He has done more for The U than Shannon and Golden combined!

Money well invested and great turn out in OTown!

Richt is going to call plays whether you like it or not. That's why he came here. He does need to improve though. Which he will.

Was Richt hired to go 9-4?

No he was not. In fact he got fired at UGA for going 9-4 every year.

Go back and look at his career again. 8 win regular seasons were in the minority. 9-4 seasons were not what he did EVERY year. Think about it. If recruiting is lagging due to lack of production, wouldn't his level of success also bring in more recruits? I have faith that Richt can win our division and eventually our conference. After that, you can expect National Championship caliber recruits to take notice in Miami again.

The lame call out thread from the nondescript poster. Yay.

Rick is a solid veteran HC. His team played hard for him, which is awesome. He showed a willingness to change when things weren't going well. And he installed a defense that suits the players on the team. He finished strong too. All of this is positive.

It doesn't erase the rotten October. But it's a **** fun way to end a season. I haven't been happy at the end of a season since we beat FSU in the Orange Bowl.

There are a lot of good coaches that come in and have a mediocre year 1 then take off in year 2. Part of that is getting to know your team. Learning everyone's strengths and weaknesses. Who you can trust to do what. Which olinemen are best in which spots. On and on. A first year coach comes in and knows none of this. A lot of it is learned on the fly in year 1. Next year Richt will be armed with this knowledge and our football team is going to be better prepared and have better personnel management.

First time in a long time that we ended the season on a good note with confidence going into the next season. People forget that Miami lost to Clemson 58-0 andUNC 59-whatever. This was not a good team. The only L that was for more than 7 pts was vs VT. Whipped a team in the bowl that won 10 games. Last season we lost to Wash.St. Anybody that is not satisfied with Richt's first season obviously has some personal dislike for the dude, that has nothing to do with football. Okay the offense hasn't been where we want it to be but the O-line is below average with a statue for QB. It's all that you have to install and reprogram when you take over first season. Richt provides us with the confidence that's been missing, stop being stubborn and admit we have a really good coach. Richt hired Diaz.

Will you folks man up and admit you were wrong about the man? MAN UP and admit your weakness...

You can thank Diaz and the defense again for bailing out richt for the first quarter and a half. He's lucky they were even in the game at that point....so what exactly are we admitting to?

No need for this thread right now. Everyone is riding the high of strong finish. Richt has areas where he needs to improve and ultimately he wont be proven right until this team wins a national title. But we are taking steps in the right direction. Say what you will about his "big game" coaching this was a big game for where Miami is as a program. We desperately needed that win to validate which direction this team is trending.
