With Phillip Dorsett graduating, Miami needs an infusion of pure speed. The next generation has big guys (Brady, Langham, Chatman, Fosier) and a slot guy (Berrios), but there is no burner.

One guy that deserves a look is Hallandale's Richie Cooper. He's currently committed to Northern Illinois, but I think he has the potential to be another John Brown. Not only is he fast, but he is also quick and can separate with ease.

Here are some highlights from the beginning of his senior season. There will be more to come:

Wow, where did this guy come from, impressive highlights. This just goes to show with the variety of speed we have in the area, there is no reason why we should not be one of the fastest teams in the nation. I would definitely give this guy a look along with Kirk Merritt from Louisiana.

Cooper is 5'9" 190lbs he transferred from Booker T. wash in the spring to Hallandale so Ice Harris Sr should know all about this young man who is rated the 42nd best player in Broward county for the 2015 class. I wonder why he left BTW?

Go Canes

He was 10 th grade WR at NUC Miami camp, so has gotten exposure and playing at BTW as well.

D, what are his speed numbers? does he run track?

Not sure but he cooks on the field.

The guy that really opened my eyes was John Brown, a Homestead product who went to Pittsburg State and is now emerging as a rookie star for the Arizona Cardinals. What has made him successful is the combination of speed and quickness. Some guys have one but not the other. Brown has both, and it has allowed him to develop into a deadly route-runner.

I see those traits in Cooper.

Type of kid that VTech or someone swoops in last second and steals and then pounds our *** for 4 years.

We ****ed up with Mckenzie and seems like we did the same with Irvin...and now we need a return guy that can make **** happen. If this kid can do that and only that, worth a scholly. So sick of watching dudes like Dorsett and Burns returning kicks.
