Still the bad long term decision. There is no future in Daniel Jones, period. I mean what hes a ever so slightly higher floor/more consistent AR? Like what the thought is maybe Jones can get them to playoffs while AR can't? But then what? They're in the AFC. What is Jones gonna do for you against Burrow, Lamar, Allen, Mahomes?I closely followed them last year. He is an absolutely atrocious QB. **** of a thrower. He automatically puts you at a handicap. I bet his offensive teammates are secretly elated - even if they have to deal with Daniel Jones.
It seems simple to me. In the NFL you need to take every shot you can at securing a top 10 QB. It will take a lot of swings. What doesn't make literally any sense is taking a swing and not following through literally at all. Securing the 32-36th best QB in the league like Jones may be is useless. Sure Likely AR will be worse. But what if a full season of starting experience ends with him being viewed like top 20 by the end of the year and hope he can take another step after. cause starting this season would essentially double his actual starting experience including college+NFL so far.
And my problem isn't so much going with someone else over AR, I could see that being a game plan to try to actually develop AR. But to me this screams they are just 100% giving up on him and intend to start Jones all year. THAT is the dumb decision imo.
