Rich Rod should be the guy

I lived in New Orleans during Rodriguez's tenure as OC at Tulane. He took a miserable offense and made it a dynamic one. Tulane went 7-4 and 11-0 in the two seasons he was there after not winning more than two per season the previous five years. Of course good quarterback play is essential no matter who the OC is. I like Rodriguez as an offensive mind.

did similar at Clemson w Woody Dantzler before heading to WVU

What worries me most about Rich Rod is the amount of running he puts on his QB. If he'd use the QB sparingly in the run game, but keep it as an option, then I'd be more interested in him as OC. There are at least 3 realistic OC's I'd take before him, but I do like it when a former HC is a coordinator. More times than not, they are bring a certain quality to the team they are coordinating for that you often don't get with guys who haven't held that top position.

Obviously, RR would be better than the OC's we've had since Chud, although, I do think Fisch did a much better job than most give him credit for.

No thanks to Rich Rod

There's a reason he has coached at so many schools over the last several years. That reason is NOT because he's done well.

If you strike out on the 1st tier options of Brady, Yost, Gleason (which we will), he not a horrible option for a 2nd/3rd tier OC option. Better than Applesauce or Fedora but id prob prefer Lashlee or the Wake forest guy over him

However, RR would actually come here versus most options the board mentions who will say no thanks and/or use us to get a raise at their own school

I liked him here in AZ but it was his stubbornness on running a 3-3-5 defense that hurt him, the offense was always humming. He would do fine here just calling plays. He only had one year ranked in total offense outside the top 40. They finished 38th, 15th, 35th, 30th, 20th, 97th, and 5th in the year he was fired. They averaged 33.8pts during his time here. That is better than anything we have had in a long time. I'm not saying hire him but he would't be the worse choice either.

I have this impression that he asks his QB's to run too much which would wear them out, especially when post season comes. Did you notice this about him. or did he pass more later in his career?

He would prefer to have the QBs run more but he always adapted to the QB's strength. Matt Scott was an avg at best runner but good passer so they threw more. BJ Denker couldn't throw at all and so he ran him into the ground. One thing about Rich Rod is he's never static in anything he does.

His offense was creative and effective for the time. Worked well at Tulane, Clemson and WV. But he's not been as impressive since. College Football has changed and he's no longer cutting edge.
He's had 4 top 30 offenses in his last 5 years

Any of you ****** still hangin on Tate’s nuts better not be bashing Rich Rod. It’s the only offense that kid has a chance in.
