Rhett Lashlee wants to be a HC...

This line of thinking has been prevalent on the board for so long and it needs to be killed off once and for all.

All we've seen ever since Golden arrived, with the exceptions Kuligowski, Jess Simpson, and Manny being pursued by Temple before Richt retired, is our coordinators and position coaches staying in place for years. Our coaches have not been sought after by other programs because they've been terrible. D'Onofrio, Enos, and Coley (went from our OC to a WR coach for two years).

Let's include position coaches that no one else wanted like Paul Williams and Jon Richt. Rumph and Banda, our clown show recruiters in the secondary, are heading into their fifth year with the program. Coaches staying in place doesn't represent stability, it represents that they're not wanted by competitive programs because of poor performance.

If Lashlee kills it here enough to warrant interest as a head coach, then the program will have benefited from our offense being turned around for as long as he's here. If he's not wanted elsewhere enough to earn a raise at Miami or earn a promotion elsewhere, then house is going to be cleaned anyway.

You clearly don't get this post. I think it's a great hire but it's going to suck if he actually turns the offense around because he's going to get a HC job

Come on OP. This is the kind of thinking that got us into the mess of the last 15 years. Time to change the thought process and philosophy. If he leaves for a head coach position after 1 or 2 years you just find the next guy who will do the same. If Manny isn’t the guy to find the next guy then he’s gone and we move on to a guy who can.

so did Dan Penos, please 1 step at a time, and guess what he hasn't been one yet so he better start either lighting **** up or change goals

What sucks is Lashlee wants to become a HC asap. If he actually turns our offense around and gives us a top 30 offense he's going to have schools lined up to make him HC.. That's the problem with having a defensive minded HC.. If Lashlee leaves his scheme will go with him. I'm actually thrilled with the hired and think it's a great move. All I'm saying is it's going to suck if actually turns the offense around just to leave us for a HC job.
Not worried....on the other hand, maybe we should find that 60-ish guy from UVA....

Hey is Norm Chow still around? Is he still in football? Is he alive?
