I pray he stays... tvd & Garcia is perfect for his offense ( yeah im not reading a 100 post, I just saw the thread and said my piece 🤷🏾‍♂️ )

I thought there was a recent report that basically cleared him…
You missed the part about ignoring or failing to report potential criminal conduct by football student-athletes. NCAA violation? Well, no, but not exactly what I would label ‘cleared’. I would label his lack of action as ‘unacceptable’.

”In each instance, when the head coach received information from a staff member regarding potential criminal conduct by a football student-athlete, he did not report the information and did not personally look any further into the matter,” the panel said. “His incurious attitude toward potential criminal conduct by his student-athletes was deeply troubling to the panel.

“As one panel member observed at the hearing when questioning the head coach’s lack of response to this information, ‘a lot of these things that we’re talking about, they’re not NCAA rules violations . . . (or) university policy violations. They’re felonies. (W)e’re talking about rapes and physical assaults,’” according to the report. “The head coach failed to meet even the most basic expectations of how a person should react to the kind of conduct at issue in this case. Furthermore, as a campus leader, the head coach is held to an even higher standard. He completely failed to meet this standard.”

I could get behind Art Briles as OC. However, once the chains are broken and he’s allowed back in the club he’ll be hired as HC the following season, assuming he’s successful.
I'm probably the most vocal resident Art Briles fan in the board. I'm not sure he gets hired at HC again. He's 65.

And I haven't even a sliver of doubt he'd be great as OC. He's the best offensive coach in the college game in the last generation.

Briles I was half-kidding about. Although he cleared of NCAA violations his inactions sited in a recent report would give me serious pause to consider him for any position.

What I'm reading is that the panel thinks he has a one-track mind: all football, all the time.

I want to win and wouldn't even think twice about hiring him as OC.

A lot of people talk on this board about the BOT not sufficiently "wanting it."

Well, how bad do the fans actually want it?

Not enough to ignore the type of behavior described. The allegations he ignored weren’t PED usage or a booster giving a recruit a few thousand dollars or someone taking a test for player so he can remain academically eligible. I’m not condoning those but we’re taking about ignoring serious violent criminal behavior.

The HC is a top leadership position and held to a higher standard. He failed. Now, it’s been a number of years. What does he think now? He’s big on Church and God and all that, but ignores multiple allegations of sexual assault and rape by those under his watch? How does one reconcile this? Likely a hard pass but would have to meet the man, read the reports in detail.

I’d love a few million dollars to retire in luxury but I wouldn’t take the money from just any source, regardless of how they got it, even if no law was technically broken.

There are morals.

actually, Jacurri Brown is the type of guy he can work with. He needs a Nick Marshall or Cam Newton type to run the power spread offense he wants. Garcia would fit perfectly in an air raid system. TVD is more your traditional drop back guy that would do great behind a Wisconsin or Bama oline.

I want jeff lebby as has been mentioned but man we all know what’s gonna happen. Likens will be promoted to OC. Which will be bad

If Lashlee leaves they will just promote Likens, who was sub par at arizona st.
