Rewatching the Pinstripe Bowl from 2023…

We all love Bain and all but you pulled up to talk about a Rutgers. Rutgers!

A game where our defense was bullied. Rutgers!

If you're going to talk about that then talk about the Clemson game or something. Rutgers!?!?

Look where the fan base is where we are nostalgically looking back on how a player dominated Rutgers. A game we lost. A game where the defense as a whole was bullied.

Bro, Rutgerrrrrrrs!?!?!?!?
Chill on my University lmaoo

Our DE’s are going to get a full second, at least, to get to the QB this year, because our secondary won’t be filled with ghosts.
Lol frfr i was gonna say all these **** dbs we got the coverage should hold a lil longer! Will definitely help our DLine

The Bain barometer is not his freshman year. He had a few good games, and got completely neutralized with zero stats in some games.

For us to be a legit defense, he needs to have a big impact. Same with Mesidor.

Same impact and stats as guys getting drafted.

To me this is more of an implication of Jason Taylor and Mario. Rolling with 2 DTs as your main DEs in year 4 isn't a good look, and IMO is not the formula for winning games.
You’re very wrong lol. This is what happens when you only judge players by sacks

M
Massive year for him, obviously.

Optimists view: He suffered a significant injury on literally the first drive of the first game last year, couldn’t do much as far as conditioning during rehab, and wasn’t the same player when he came back. It was essentially a wasted year due to the injury. He’s fully healthy now, in Year 3, his money year, and is going to physically dominate.

Pessimists view: He burst onto the scene as a true freshman with no tape or OCs game planning for him. He came back last year and was healthy but the book was out, and what prevented him from being a 5-star in HS (lack of prototypical size) allowed opponents to stop him from being a game-wrecker. Once OC’s knew his game, he was neutralized.

Nobody knows which is true for sure. We all get to find out in 2025. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. I’ve followed this game for a long time, and he certainly wouldn’t be the first athlete I’ve seen with a wasted year due to a significant lower body injury early in a season. But it’s prove it time now. If we’re going to win this league, we need him to be 2023 Bain. 7+ sacks, eating OL’s faces, wrecking shop in the run game and being pretty much unblockable with 1 dude.
Lack of prototypical Size ? Size Is Not an Issue for Bain. Is His Burst & Twitchiness is may be a Question but not his Size at end. He is a Jumbo ENd Munch like Jerome Macdougle of ‘01 & ‘02.

Fascinating that you guys are picking one of our best players to worry about.
Bain is a stud and the NFL will love to have him in one more year.

He has the exact same caveat as every other athlete on the planet; he has to be healthy. Beyond that Hurricane Bain is the least of our worries (along with Sisi).

Bain is a power edge player who can overwhelm tackles with brute strength and superior technique. He’s not an undersized tackle who can blow past interior linemen with lightning quickness. I understand the urge to move him inside on passing downs and I wouldn’t be against using him in an occasional specialty package at tackle but that’s not his thing. He played probably 10 lbs overweight last year and that injury lingered. I’d bet big on him having a huge year.

Bain and Mesidor would barely be 3rd team at Ohio State or on the 01 team.

Trying to win championships here.
This is wild-a$$ hyperbole. John Square and Jamal Green were heavy in the rotation for the '01 team. Nice players but come on. Andrew Williams was good, he's not as good as Bain. And you really think Ohio St wouldn't take Bain and plug him in as a starter in a heartbeat?

Bain is better than the UNC kid that OSU just took

Simply not True. Don’t listen to me, listen to all of the draft experts who have Bain in the top half of the first round. Where did the OSU guys get drafted? Make a list of all our first round DEs over the past 3 decades. Pretty short list.

Of course. He’s a tweeter. Bain also is a freak of nature. Probably won’t have the same career as Aaron Donald because Bain doesn’t want to play inside, but he’s still a tweeter. Maybe he becomes the Aaron Donald of DEs. You didn’t really expect me to pick someone like Thomas Gore now, did you? This is still CiS after all.

I chose AD because he played extremely fast with great hands and knew how to use his shortness as an asset…kinda like Bain. And because I knew it would pișz off a few people. 😊
Bain May not be to off Donald’s Comp.
Wasn’t Donald Raw speed But Quickness & Power with Lever age that Made him a HOF.
Let Bain Develop into his own for a Healthy full season at his Best.

Let’s pick and compare him to a top 5 d tackle of all time! BRILLIANT!

I’m not sure why we do this. Lol.

Let’s see what Aaron Donald did at Pitt:
51 games:
181 Total Tackles (115 solo)
37% of his Total Tackles were for TFLs
29.5 sacks
6 Forced Fumbles

All Bain needs to do is post 11+ sacks, 60+ tackles, 2+ fumbles, & 20+ TFLs to be on the same trajectory of Aaron Donald this season. 🤷🏾‍♂️
