Reports say Tate didn’t show for practice today

Give it a break kids like anyone else needed some time to get his emotions right.any poster here has done the same thing when you've gotten had news you weren't expecting.Tate is a competitor I hope Perry is too nothing against them .but you never know the backup is one play away from playing.hopefully Tate and Perry keep grinding it out.

So, all the other competitive kids that were also emotional because they didn’t start, could still be at practice, but Tate should be looked at different? Guys like Perry and many others that lost out on starting positions, had their butts at practice. Heck, Kennedy transferred here and was pegged to be the starting LT, but he’s hasn’t cracked the starting lineup since he’s been here....not even during the Spring, but he hasn’t missed a day of practice. Perry, especially would’ve caught **** from fans if he’d miss practice. But instead, many of you coddle and make excuses for Tate.

Manny and the coaches said they’d put the players in difficult circumstances to get a sense of who they are. You find out a lot about a person when there is adversity...when they’re under pressure. We found out a lot about Tate yesterday.

Missing practice yesterday showed you all you need to know about Tathan Martell. It showed a lack of mental toughness. It showed he’s not a team player. It shows he’s not a leader if things aren’t going his way. It showed he’s not a fighter. It also showed a sense of entitlement.

Awww lets give the little noodle arm a free pass because he didn’t get his way. Maybe he needs some time for some emotional posts on social media to clear his head. Oh he’s got a hot girlfriend to look after, that’s ok, spend time with her while your brothers work for a common goal.

FVCK THAT. We have the biggest game of our season in 11 days and whether you agree with the Williams decision or not, it is been made and the team needs Martell at practice getting reps to the other players. He’s a weak minded quitter, not a fighter, not a leader, an individual and not a team player.

As mentioned above, Perry was at practice helping the team yesterday however he could. The same goes for everyone else that lost out on a starting job. Martell can take his bogus sense of entitlement over to ucf and lose his third crack at a starting qb job if this is the attitude he’s going to have when things don’t go his way.

I was on m way to work and I saw him hangin in Da Beans wit Lonzo off in da cut.

Not sure what to say about this. Not a good look for Tate, that's for sure. I do agree, this is a team so your **** better be at practice unless your dead.

Then by your own logic when JW15 had the same issues last year he shouldn’t be considered mentally tough or a team player either..... These are emotional kids we are talking about. But keep casting judgement!!! I hope for your own sake that nobody ever judges you in this manner!

Tate if transfering should look at UCF long and hard as a 1st transfer option. He can sit this year then, walk into the starting role in 2020.

I think UCLA would be his best 2nd transfer choice and play for chip Kelly. It fits his style. He can sit this year and play 2 years.

He would have to beat out his former HS teammate and also a UW transfer.

Moderator Statement:
The facts at hand are that Tate Martell missed practice today and that later in the day it was reported that he is still on the team and will be reporting for a team meeting. That's all we know at the moment.

We already deleted a couple lengthy threads on the subject to keep the board from being overloaded with one topic. Being the West coast night shift mod I'm going to keep this thread open. Im sure things will shake out in the AM on the east coast.

Thanks for keeping it in perspective.

Night Crew always handles the tough assignments!

He transferred in, worked his **** off over the summer and lost the competition to a younger player.

He's a young man who's just had his world turned upside down (no way he transfers here if he doesn't think the job is his) - I'm going to give him a day to process all this without jumping down his throat about being unprofessional / not a good look etc.

Yeah. None of those places has a QB waiting or practicing to get the job. They will just hand it to Tate. Yeah right!
