Mario with another slam dunk hire bruh
If I remember correctly he was a **** of a basketball player as well.Yeup
Yeah he was in the McDonald’s all American game. Played basketball for two years with Julius peppersIf I remember correctly he was a **** of a basketball player as well.
One of the guys that is a coaches agent that I know, stated that was one of the main reasons Merritt was hired. Dawson wanted a football coach first, someone he could bounce ideas off of. He didn't care for a straight recruiter at the RB positionIf you’ve heard the Scott Satterfield interview, he mentions Mario likes to meet a lot of coordinators and have his whole staff there so they can get Intel on how different coaches do different things.
Recruiting will always be something Mario pays attention to with his staff, but hiring a guy like this with no top-notch recruiting experience might signal that he values some of the development or scheme knowledge he’ll be bringing from that Sean Payton system.
Not saying he’s the next Joe Brady being a RB coach but don’t think it’s a coincidence he plucks someone from arguably the best offensive mind on the planets staff.
THIS IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR AS WELL..WE NEED A GUY WITH ABILITY TO DRAW UP OR CALL PLAYS ASSISTING WITH DAWSON....THAT AINT KB OR MARIO N MIRABAL SOOOO.....One of the guys that is a coaches agent that I know, stated that was one of the main reasons Merritt was hired. And maybe a RB screenHoping he brings some of Payton's RB passing scheme and route concepts with him for Pringle and our other RB's to use this season.
Exactly what i was thinking this hire was..its why mid season we could adjust our run gameOne of the guys that is a coaches agent that I know, stated that was one of the main reasons Merritt was hired. Sean Payton puts extreme emphasis on his RB coaches and what he wants from them. They have to be able to do it all and understand every single detail of the offense.THIS IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR AS WELL..WE NEED A GUY WITH ABILITY TO DRAW UP OR CALL PLAYS ASSISTING WITH DAWSON....THAT AINT KB OR MARIO N MIRABAL SOOOO.....
I know it's a good hire when you co-sign!Mario with another slam dunk hire bruh
Mirabal was running game coordinator? Over Merritt! If I'm not mistaken?THIS IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR AS WELL..WE NEED A GUY WITH ABILITY TO DRAW UP OR CALL PLAYS ASSISTING WITH DAWSON....THAT AINT KB OR MARIO N MIRABAL SOOOO.....
Plainly; you regularly post negative opinions focused towards the staff on the recruiting board without substantiating your statements when asked to do so by other posters. So to seek the same in return is..

I was being honest as well, and there's no hill to die on. "Hes on campus quite frequently" yet asks on a message board to others that are not on campus as frequently if "this is the best we can do?" in regards to a coaching hire. Based on your response, it's assumed that he has more information than most posters here, which makes the comment even more suspect.I'm just being honest.
This is not the hill you want to die on.
I assure you, @Hurracanes absolutely knows what he is talking about.
I can't speak to "negative opinions" vs. "positive opinions". It is possible you might be taking greater notice of the negative ones, but I'm not trying to criticize.
As for substantiation, that is a VERY hard thing to do on recruiting info. We all know this. That's why we have to grant some credibility to the guys who know things, and I promise you that he knows things.
Sometimes things turn around. Lyle was as good as gone....until he wasn't.
But I know that @Hurracanes is on campus quite frequently. I would trust his info.

My comment was made with the information I've observed over the past few years, he responded, I have nothing left to say about it.
When you research all you see is good things and he is climbing ladders fast. Most times thats a good thing, idk about his recruiting but since he was an FIU recruit he knows what Mario wants already. This guy will be back in the NFL in a couple years.I know it's a good hire when you co-sign!
WordYou got it, my guy.
There is no doubt their relationship from FIU played a major factor in this decision. It’s definitely a good sign since both parties know what to expect from each other. When you research all you see is good things and he is climbing ladders fast.
