It worked out. No complaints. Love Brown.
I'm all for fresh legs and the RB coach knows best. But Fletcher didn't seem fatigued. In fact, the opposite. He was going strong. Just as he had at the end of the A&M game.
David Polkack's co-host says Fletcher almost fumbled on his last carry. Dunno.

He did. It got knocked loose in his gut and he was able to pin it quickly.

He was gassed, he might have even pulled him self out and then coaches just went with the fresh legs

Brown is a little fireplug and change of pace. He hammers straight ahead and is hard to take down. Going against a D unit gasping for breath ... very well played by Dawson.

Fletcher nearly fumbled again at the end of his 19 yard run not his last carry. I thought it was a great move by Merritt and Dawson to go to Brown. We had worn them down and Brown had proven against ND that was when he was at his best. Fletcher also had 21 touches in the game at that point. He probably would have been fine to keep running, but fresh legs doesn't hurt

Fletcher doesn't switch the ball to the sideline side; always keeps it in his right arm, so that was also a factor in putting in Brown the way OSU was punching at the ball.

Fletcher said post game he tweaked his knee.

It’s easier for any RB to fumble when he is tired. Brown did a great job when called upon. Even Pringle ran Well, but he was limited in pass pro. Fletcher is RB1 right now, but it’s good to know that we have great backups.

I love that Dawson went right back to him with several runs and the TD pass after his fumble that eliminated the possibility of the Canes first points. It reminded me of when he went to Toney for the TD after his fumble in the Texas A&M game. He showed both stars that he trusts them

The RB coach per Dawson stayed with the hot hand.. I like it.

It really proves to the team there’s no hard feelings.. make a play or get out
These guys seem to play for each other so much more for themselves. They lift each other up. It's so special to see. I'm sure Fletcher was okay with whatever needed to happen.

Yeah even after 3 years Fletcher ALWAYS carries the ball in his right hand.

the 3rd and 3/4 play was designed to sneak out the RB for a quick gain. Brown has amazing hands (no offense to Fletch but area of opportunity for him) and sure enough caught a tough pass. From there, he had fresh legs against a fatigued defense and brown's a beast. tough and physical would not be denied. The one run where he was stopped after a yard but kept moving his legs and the pile to pick up 5 was ****** awesome.

This is where depth mattered… fletch looked like he needed a play or two at minimum and Marty ran with it literally and figuratively to ice the game
