Renovation of locker room?

Look, I completely stand behind you on the IPF, but you are missing the point here.

First, "Sports Illustrated" didn't hate UM in 1971 when the article I cited was written.

Second, Joe Robbie ripped off everyone he dealt with from the 1960s up through the 1980s when he built JRS, but I'm supposed to lionize him because he didn't use "city taxes"?

Give me a break. I actually have knowledge on Joe Robbie's finances and estate structure, and I can assure you, he put all of his own money into it because he couldn't get substantial bank financing.

What, he didn't get tax money? Sure, but he also stuck the City of Miami with the OB for another 2 decades, not to mention the fact that he compromised the overall quality of the new stadium in a desire to corner the market on baseball and soccer facilities as well.

It has taken 30 years to squeeze a decent football stadium out of JRS.

In the meantime, Atlanta has built BOTH the Georgia Dome and Mercedes Benz Stadium.

.

Hmmm very enlightening interesting 👍

They just remodeled the locker rooms a few years ago. The money should be spent to further enhance the weight room. Or bring in some additional staff.

In all honesty these are like JUCO locker rooms. The truth is we were soooooo far behind the arms race that when we finally did upgrade in 2013-14ish it was really like 2009 level in terms of style. Hopefully this newer upgrade puts us further ahead.

The funny thing is that last year 10 wins and the TOC, rocked college football and took the news cycle from ever President Trump. THAT cannot be bought by a billion dollar looker room. Only The U can light that sort of fire. If we beat LSU all eyes will be on us again. Despite all its titles and near term dominance, BAma needs to spend that money and pay players. We win one and every kid in country will want in.
Yep

State of the art locker rooms only cost 1M. No reason why we should still have lockers that look like they're from the 90's.
Facts, uf lockerroom renovation cost around that and its looks good too. That’s not even taking into account that they are about to get another lockerroom upgrade when their facility is built

Manny has to win to get people to invest. I was listening to the Warchant pod sometime last year and they said they were also getting a standalone football facility like UF. That would be a dagger in recruiting if we are the only one in Florida without one.

You are a dope. There will be no dagger. There is no place to put a "standalone football facility" on the UM campus.

We need facilities improvements on a regular basis, but "standalone" is not the killer issue.

Go listen to some more rivals' podcasts.

Oh.

If they're renovating the baseball locker rooms you have to believe they're going to, or are already in the process of, upgrading the football locker rooms. There's even a quote from Richt in the OP alluding to it being in the works

Yeah brock found a tweet of some guy in the athletics department hinting at a locker room upgrade. Haven't heard any recruits mention it though.

My company was part of the new LSU locker rooms renovation that opened before last season. Each locker in the place has a sleeping pod for the player in front of it.There are 2 large pools in it as well as a massive hot tub.
It also has a large cafe in it and a full kitchen, meeting rooms ,coaches offices ,theatre etc. They had us install a tile mural that took up a 40 ft. Wall that matched the eye of the Tiger that’s at midfield. It alone cost 100 grand.

They are located below the seats and covers about 50,000 sf on two floors.Thing is massive.

This is what SEC money buys you.

Look, you're just an ignorant person who has probably never even spent any time on the UM campus. It's not a land-grant campus in some rural college town. We have a moderately densely developed campus with no on-campus football stadium and no stand-alone football facility. And we are highly unlikely to EVER have either one of those things.

Do we need to renovate locker rooms, sure. But stop acting like UM will never be able to recruit against UF and F$U because we will never have a "stand-alone football facility".

After your self-imposed six-month ban, why are you back here with your arrogant know-it-all schtick? You get humiliated on 9 out of every 10 threads.

Not sure why anyone would want to sleep in a locker room. Maybe NYstate knows.
