Thats not the issue. Swasey has a lot of support from all of our other team's coaches and support staff. They don't want him gone. He does a great job for our Tennis program.

Either Richt has authority to fire or "reassign" Swasey or he doesn't. If he does, this isn't an issue.

I agree with you. Unfortunately this is one area where some restraints have been put on CMR just like they have with our last 3 coaches.

I highly doubt Blake is drawing a hard line at keeping Swasey.

Why? It's been going on here for years. A hard line was put on the last 3 coaches to keep Swasey.

I've watched the coach Swasey debate from the sidelines for the past decade plus. Ive never weighed in because both sides' arguments always made sense and I had no idea who was correct.

That said, whether coach Swasey is a gold S&C coach or not, sometimes you just need to turn the soil completely over before replanting next year's harvest. Im in the camp that says its time for a change at S&C. Dude has been here for 14 years now. Coach Swasey himself should want a change in order to take the next steps in his career.

But who will you find that has a better resume than Swasey? The list of players he has trained who are in the NFL, NFL HOF, NFL Pro Bowl is next level. Not only has he trained UM players, other professional athletes from other leagues such as baseball and basketball have come to him.

Best case scenario would be he stays with the same title but only works on speed and we bring someone else in to do strength training/conditioning.

THIS! I dont understand why some of these coaches feel entitled to stay at UM when they havent gotten the job done! Instead of rallying nfl alumni how about you do your dam job! If you need to make calls and have a bunch of guys vouch for you that should tell you all you need to know.

If NFL players who are NFL Pro bowlers and Hall of Gamers say Swasey is not the issue who do you believe. Do you really believe a bunch of message board posters who never have stepped foot on UM campus vs NFL players?

The players he has trained have made impacts in the NFL immediately. Not only that, his players tested better than their peers. It falls on the coaches for not utilizing all of those talented players. Holding him responsible for bad coaching is unfair and silly.

That really doesn't answer the question. Isn't the Lions' S&C staff in Detroit? Vikings staff in Minneapolis? Is it possible that guys would rather convene with some friends in a great location in the off-season?

It's the same over at IMG. The best MLB players train there in January and February. It isn't because of the staff, it's because of the location.

Richt was a huge coup for the people in charge. They're not going to foist a bum coach on him at this point.

Your belief that a bevy of NFL players are training with Swasey is what's silly. You're dealing with outdated info and I thought you were connected down that way. There's two other spots that have taken over and it's a ghost town compared to years past at our facility.

Legacy fit trains a few athletes such as harden, ibaka, McGahee, Durant and others. Some of Swasey's people work their.
