Recruits Speaking Out

Every year there's a new crop of recruits talking about how our current players aren't executing. Those recruits come in and then quickly become the players that a new crop of recruits are talking about not executing. And the cycle continues.....

The players have something to so with it. It's impossible to look that Gosh darn awful without it being a team effort.

I'm interested to see what Shaq's dad has to say at this point.
I was warned early on to stay clear of this site after a loss...I'm what some may call an idiot for not taking said advice...but here is my take anyways..Shaq and I watched the game and what stuck out for us was missed tackles... thats one of my pet peeves ... If Shaq mis a tackle then follow it up with an interception for a 90 yard touchdown...our conversation will be focused on the missed tackle...with that said if you sum up all the missed tackles and then divide that in half Miami beats Nebraska IMO. The one thing I do know about coaching is there will always be supporters and there will always be critics...like a soldier he may not favor the commander in chief but he still goes out and fight his best fight regardless...and if thats not good enough then he trains harder and is more prepared for the next fight...now the mess...all the recruits committed to UM have to be a supporter of current staff Shaq and i included...the day we are not is the day we change our commitment... Shaq is still 100 percent committed...Most of us who grace this site are echelons below having any influence of the firing or hiring of the coaching staff. But I would guess that most of us want to see Miami return to the greatness it once was...staff included...i understand that this forum is a place of free speech and opinion and I'm a supporter of both but i fear that some recruit not of strong mind could be scared off by some of the comments of opinion... I keep Shaq off for that reason alone...because if a recruit or potential recruit take their talents elsewhere Miami suffers regardless who is the coach... i step off the soap box but not before asking 1 question...Should a recruit not commit to Miami with the current staff?

To answer your question, you commit to the school! I know the coaches sell you the program, but how many times do they split regardless? Butch Davis promised kids he was staying then days later leaves to NFL... Happens all the time!!

I do not like the adjustments (lack of) by the defense and the scheme that is run. Many have questioned that we STILL don't have the talent and experience along the defensive line...

Imagine if we win the ACC THIS YEAR, then Golden splits for greener pastures... You would still be in the same situation! Nevertheless, I hope and can't wait to see your son in green and orange!

(I believe you already knew the answer to your question though)

At the end of the day, if a kid has the physical tools to be a pro he will be a pro after his time here. If that is the goal, that will be the answer regardless of the system. If you want to play with that U on your helmet because it has been a lifelong dream, then the staff shouldn't even matter.

/do not have a kid.

"Recruits Speaking Out" is the title of this thread but that is a bit misleading. It should be "Recruits Express Support for the U".

Support might not be for the "scheme" or the coaches or all the negativity on this board but the support is there from two important recruits that they look forward to honoring their commitment. Isn't that the type of kid, and respectfully the parent, the U looks for and deserves. We should be so lucky to have more of them.

Some frustrating times right now but seeing kids honor their words in the midst of that storm that is leadership.

To answer you question it's the school for many reasons. 1. Coaches leave alot or get fired and if they're great they're in high demand so you'll never know what they'll do. 2. Football isn't the only thing at a school and when you're not on the field you have to ask yourself are you happy at the school enough to live there for 3-5 years. 3. Some kids get homesick but they get over it and that's only if the school benefits them and they're future even if its nbot with Football ( the smart kids think of that) and 4. UM hasn't coached up guys perfectly ut still they're working out yearly and some of the best schools in the country aren't getting NFL production and why you ask? Some coaches max the kids out and some build them so much to fit a college system that they don't adjust to the NFL and what it brings to them there.

Answering Shaqs dads Q:
Honestly, Im of the opinion you choose a school based off of where you would want to go if you didnt have football. And then once you get like a list of 5 or so, you can look at how you fit more. If you love a school though, I think you go there regardless.
The only time I think you should choose a school based on scheme is if you are a QB. I mean other than that these kids are still in high school, and will do soo much growing regardless. **** you dont have to have crazy stats to get a shot in the NFL. Asante Cleveland was on the 49ers active roster last night. And he barely even played. If it was me id hope there is a new coach but would still come, especially if I play offense.

Psssst. Wanna hear a secret?......It's the scheme!
No it's the adjustments and pre snap alignments.

this is what no one is speaking about. Offense audibles and no pre snap alignments, Dline doesnt move. LBs dont come up and move the dline in the right spot. DBs dont do any signals nothing, they get in postion and stay, dont look over at the coaches nothing.IDk what to say, how do you let 10 mins come off the clock and your losing, change something!?my goodness

IMO it's all going to work itself out either way. By the time Shaq comes 2 things could happen. Either Golden and Dnofrio figure out this defense OR he will have a new defensive coordinator... No matter what by the time he gets here expect the defense to be a lot better.

Shaq dad, you pose a great question because the way some people are talking on here..you would think the answer would be No. But I think the last thing we all want is for kids like Shaq, Sam bruce, Snelson, etc to jump ship because of fan negativity.

BUT with all of that said, I fear one big thing. I fear that Al has finally got the pieces he needs to run this scheme starting with last years freshmen class and moving to this years and then 2016. Players like CJenkins, DJack, CThomas, CHarris, DOwens, JYoung, Shaq, etc can all play the 3-4 defense. And probably play it VERY well.

But the fear is that Als time has run out. He doesnt have two more years to get this thing going. By that time, there will be 15k people going to home games, the alumni would have completely turned their back on this staff, and the morale of the program will be the worst its been since 1997.

And to be honest, under the circumstances I just named, I would not suggest a kid commit to Miami. JMO.

That is why a part of me either prays we win out (and give FSU the fight of their lives win or lose), win the bowl game and get this thing back on track OR get blown out by Duke on Saturday and be fired that very next morning. And start fresh.

LOL, the kid is one of the best at his position in FLA period and you guys still have the nerve to say "he doesn't know what he's talking about he's just covering for AG and the scheme blah blah blah" LMFAO!!! That reference was to Jaquan Johnson saying the players are the ones who need to be held accountable for their ****-poor play. I've been screaming it ever since the clock hit quad 0's saturday, regardless of the scheme these player need to play better because if not someone's gunna come punch us in the mouth again and steal our lunch money just like Abdullah and crew did last saturday. LLS the nerve of some of you Madden players smh

Oh but when Shaqs dad talks about the **** poor tackling performance he gets 26 up votes..but when I say they play soft and without discipline everyone comes for my neck LLS. And in no way am I disagreeing with anything "UknowWhat" is saying I actually agree with you. I maybe one of those posters you don't want Shaq to see cause I call it like I see it. But some people on here are so blinded that even with all the missed tackles and poor assignment football being executed on Saturday they still try n link it back to coaching. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but did the coaches allow Abdullah break 50-leven tackles and turn a no gain to +4?? Or was it the players? On the field execution is accomplished by the players! You can adjust all the alignments and in box players all you want but if the players don't make tackles or execute everything goes to ****.

I don't disagree with you, but most will argue with you that the coaches have to teach them to tackle properly AND execute when it's time.

Granted, coaches can't MAKE them execute, but they're the ones responsible for how the players perform under the lights. If they're not executing, it's on the coaches to get them out and get someone in who will.

Maybe Jaquan just sees people who could/should be doing better and says something. Maybe it would be nice to have players with some balls and leadership skills. You cant ALWAYS be in revolt....

Well if after 4 years your players still cant make plays or tackles and they have not been replaced by ones that can, who's fault is that? This isnt year 1 or 2 or 3, its year 4.
