Recruits believe in Mario more than fans of the program believe in mario

mario signed a 10 year contract. recruits know that this isn't going to change over night. It's also easy to see the future when you know other top guys are already committed. I think it would take a bad year next year again to knock his recruiting momentum, until then? dude going to be eating on the trail

Correct. If he can get out of his own way and be more hands off with gameday prep and do away with some of his micromanaging tendencies and glaring deficiencies on gameday he can be a fine CEO. If this historically catastrophic season doesn’t make him adjust then he’ll never learn.

Either way just keep stacking chips whether it’s for him or the next guy.
 
Need to hit the transfer portal big time to rid the stench of Lispy holdovers. I just want Mario to recruit and allow his assistants to game plan. That is if and when we have competent assistants.

Never doubted Mario's ability to recruit at an elite level.

Never doubted Mario's ability to develop a winning culture and create a good team.

That being said, Mario made some mistakes in year 1 with some of his hires and his philosophy. If he can figure that out and fix them then everything will be fine.

If it's still Josh Gattis calling plays next year with a .500 or below record, and I have to listen to Mario keep saying, "We have to establish the run" then I'm gonna lose my mind.

I was shocked when I saw that. Mario is so intent on establishing himself he's intentionally tanking the season. There's enough here on the team to be undefeated right now. Either that or he's a terrible coach.

But yeah, it will build faith of he can keep recruiting like this.

Didn’t manny just sign two 5 stars two years ago? One is a two year starter that people are already sick of and the other is an ok backup. I don’t care what any coach does outside of saturdays in the Fall anymore

Was there not unparalleled excitement for the past 9 months about how good we were going to be this year with our elite staff, only for fans to do a 180 in freaking September already and say we have no talent and this is a long term rebuild? Perspective and a good memory can help you from falling into the same traps year after year…
