What are the thoughts thus far with Coach Golden's job this cycle? Ive been out of the loop. Anything exciting happening these days? How many we signing this year?

If you would have told me a year ago I would be ecstatic with a class that does NOT include Sony, Clark, Cook, and Lane I would have slapped you silly.

But that's where we are at. This class is loaded. It has star power but it also has guys that are severely underrated who's time will come.

If we are able to add one more legit JUCO DT, a couple receivers we are in good shape for, I think this is an A class. I know that's blasphemy to some that are obsessed with local talent, but I think so.

This class is pretty loaded. There are a few spots that need tightening up, as has been listed above, but it has the right blend of guys that can play right away and higher ceiling developmental types (Demetrius Jackson, Trayon Gray, Darrion Owens are my personal favorites).

Yup some skill positions need work but those I don't worry about so much. The lines are what have me excited. We have the best OL class in the country, and one of the top DL classes as well, certainly loaded with pass rushers.

We land a few more DT's, Oline, and WR's and this class will be complete. However, the success of our season can lure more uncommitted recruits that could possibly be some late additions to this class.

We don't need any more cbs. We have 3 corners committed and will have 9 on the roster next year,(not counting the commits) with only 3 being upperclassmen. (barring position changes). What we need is to close on Pelon and flip Cory Johnson, while landing two more safeties.

+ JuCo DT + HS DT + Stud Safety + Stud WR = superb f'ing class

anything else is icing

and regardless of additions, our class is stacked. especially considering it's September.

before i say this i want to reiterate that i really really like Yearby and think he looks even better this year...BUT

goddammit man its gonna be real tough to see Cook go to the GAYtes. he is my favorite prospect in this class and has 1st rounder written all over him

Phony can kick rocks as far as I'm concerned but cook. ****

No denying Cooks talent at all, Sonys either. But look at Cook. Hometown kid, all his boys going to Miami, his brother is at Miami, Miami recruiting the **** out of him.....etc etc etc

And he picks the Gata?

Just saying sometimes you aren't going to get a kid. If it was for lack of effort, I would be ****ed.

The reason why this class is so great despite not having the "Fantastic Four" is because the "projects" are starting to turn into stars. People can say what they want but NOBODY knew Demetrious Jackson was this good. I see people are tooting their horns in other threads and thats cool but nobody saw this coming. Owens was a God send. Turner and Mayes look like they are earning their scholies. MSmith is beastin it again. Its the supposed "diamond in the rough" prospects in this class that is putting it over the top.

Agreed. I was sold on this class when I watched The Opening highlights of Chad tossing every top olineman around like ragdolls. When he pancaked 360lb Mama on one play and then pitched him on the qb dummy the next, I was all in. Now his running mate is ripping it up too. The question I am starting to ask is are any of Al's projects NOT 4*s? They just look better and better.

Golden's camps and relationship with the local HS coaches are paying off. They weren't projects to him, only the so-called recruiting gurus who know nothing about So Miami talent other than the headliners.

To answer your question without just pointing out the needs left, We have a really good class going.

Qb:We have two good looking QB prospects, Kaaya looks like a possible STEAL!

Rb: We have Powell and Yearby, Yearby is a stud and Powell looks like he could end up being more of a third down/slot type.

WR: We have Langham and Griffin who look like the BIG reciever, we could still possibly get a couple of slot types in Berrios/JoJo/????(cant think of him)

TE: We have the Herndon kid who looks to be pretty good on film.

OL: We have the top class in the country PERIOD. two brothers of current players in Linder and McDermott, and two other guys that look great as well. All big bodied athletes for their respective sizes.

DL? We have just an awesome looking bunch that includes Valentine, Stuckey (juco) and Jenkins at the DT spot. Not a lot of sunshine in that group. At DE we look even better with Chad Thomas, D Jackson, Trent Harris who all fit different molds. It looks like Thomas will play a bit of both DT and DE or at leasat strong side DE and Jackson and Harris seem like pass rushers WDE types.

LB: Ohh this gets good here! Between Juwon Young, Michael Smith, Darrion Owens, and Terry McCray we have a bit of everything! This is the NO sunshine Gang! Owens HLs look CRIMINAL! dude just merks ppl. Smith and MCCray are more OLB/rush backers and Young seems to fir the traditional 3 down backer type.

DB: Again this is a good looking group with Bethel and Dennis Turner at CB and Mayes at S. They all have some solid talent with lots of experience. Bethel has been playing Dades best for a couple of yrs now and holding his own. Dont know a lot about the others, however the story on Mayes is VERY intriguing.

ATH: Trayone Gray is the guy I am not sure where he will end up, could be WR and could even be S. He seems like he could do either from the film I have seen.

This is the closest I have ever come to trying to act like an insider, but I am just trying to help. What I think people like most about this class is its similarity to some of our best classes in the past. A heavy dose of SoFla talent and a few good looking prospects from OOS. Please feel free to give any other tidbits you may have on guys and correct anything I may have misspoken on about any of our current guys. Again, I am NOT any kind of insider I just read a lot.
