Yes it is, and these kids rarely show interest in Miami. If they blow up, they do whatever it takes to go to a traditional power, see Vern Carey Jr as an example of that. Miami has done well in recruiting outside of the state, especially in the northeast.
So if you were Carey you would’ve gone to Miami with a team that barely had 6 serviceable players and maybe impacted your chance of going pro in a year just for loyalty to a local school? Very smart
