Recruiting: our final 5 commits?

No matter what happens with smith or jeudy now it's still a long season ahead. We're staying on them. Assuming we miss out on both & Holloman don't think we reach for much at the position. 2018 is loaded with monster talent at the wr position that plenty of them are desperate to be canes...

No disrespect but this was said every year during the Golden era after we lost kids to our rivals.

The blue chip players in our class are Donaldson (OL), DJ Johnson (DL), Henderson, Dallas and Bandy (DB), Perry (QB), Burns (RB), and possibly Edwards (DB)

We need more guys of that caliber IMO and fewer projects

1 S: Carter
1 LB: Wilder
1 or 2 OL: Telfort? Minor?
1 or 2 WR: Holloman, Harley, or Smith
1 RB: McFarland or Malik Davis
1 CB: Shawn Davis (if he wants in)

Im thinking 5-7 more recruits

We are adding way more than 2-4 more kids. Stop it. Leatherwood isn't coming here if we win the national championship.

Pete stated explicitly Leatherwood views himself as a 3 and out and Bama is the least likely place for him to start as a freshmen....or even a sophmore.

I could see Alex Leatherwood flipping to UM if Bama continues to add OTackles to their 2017 Class, Kentucky OT Jedrick Willis is expected to commit to Bama which would make the tackle position extremely crowded. Another 4* OT that has UM in his Top 2 is Adrian Ealy from Louisiana.

Go Canes

Are you sure you don't want to add Garvin to that list? 7 sacks and a pick 6 tonight!

This, although I feel as if some of our 3* are under-ranked.

Its impossible to tell without seeing the team on the field. I think you can pencil Harley and Carer in this class. The other three are the question marks. Also, I think Dykstra will be dropped, opening up a spot.

If we win 8<:

1. DeAndre Wilder
2. Jordan Wright
3. Kadeem Telfort
4. Derrick Smith

If we win 8>*beating FSU*:
1. Flip Cyrus ***an
2. Tedarrell Slaton
3. Jeremiah Holloman
4. Anthony McFarland or a 4*/5* off-the-radar LB

Wow. Really? That's what I call "production"

Yeah sounds like that dude is good

Gibson is our 3rd LB. the guy is Grace type.

Got to flip ***an who is the best safety in Florida and Leatherwood. Tell they are 3 and out by starting in 2017.

Only take Felix or McFarland. If neither comes hold onto Burns and get a top guy next year.

DJ Johnson is a DT in 2 years. We need another true Rush End.

Hollomon or Harley. Need only 1.

Agree with a lot of this. Billy Gibson looks like a classic rover type with his rep for physical play. Only question is whether he can put on enough weight to take on bigger RBs and TEs. Grace was tiny for a LB coming out of high school (listed at 212lbs but plenty thought he was barely 200lbs). Still, that's 15lbs heavier than what Gibson is listed at right now.

McFarland or Felix or bust at this point at RB. No need to reach for plan Bs this year.

Close out the DE class with Parks. With Patchan suffering yet another ACL tear, who knows if he ever makes it back?

Take Harley and one more ELITE kid at WR if the kid wants in. That would be 6-7 WRs in 2016-2017 classes to go with Berrios, Harris, and Cager next year.

I want an elite cover safety this year. Safety depth is atrocious right now unless Finley, Wright, or J James prove themselves this year. Next year, we are down to those 3 freshmens, J Johnson, and Robert Knowles.

QB: Done
RB: Anthony McFarland Jr.
WR: Holloman , Judy/Smith/Hartley (one of the 3 in that order)
TE:Done
OL: Kadeem Telfort , Alex Leatherwood ( only with a good season, player we would make room for)
DL: Done
LB: Done
CB: one more could depend on how our season ends
S: Amari Carter

Yup & the difference was 2 things #1 we didn't have the staff that made a difference with kids & #2 our results on the field never made kids say now that's a team I can't wait to suit up for. It's a world of difference when both of those things come together. We will quickly be a prime spot again.

Ideally:

Jerry Jeudy
Quan Allen
Calvin Ashley
Vandarius Cowan
Amari Carter

Probably:

Mike Harley
Kadeem Telfort
Deandre Wilder
Amari Carter
Shawn Davis
