Hmmmm....first I heard about negative recruiting with Valentine. Often enough, it turns kids and/or parents off, and comes back to bite you in the ***. We've had it done enough to us, though. Either one or both of the state schools went to town on the Marlin Barnes tragedy. God knows what else they've been able to use, like the Shapiro mess and the "death penalty." I'm sure both state schools have bigger guys than Shapiro operating full-time, untouched, and nothing ever happens to them. We're the ones who do it on a much lesser scale with a relative amateur like Nevin and we get caught.
Another thing that Genron said does bother me: he claims it's "not a family atmosphere." I'd like to know what he means and how accurate that really is. There was a time we're known for our cohesion and solidarity and it really was family. I'd like to know if that's changed. Maybe it has, because it's hard for us to have the "us against the world" mentality when we're all being good boys and not being the national media's whipping boy day in, day out. We've got to get back to being truly pariahs and outcasts, hated by everyone. Maybe that will do it.
We should hire an outside top flight PR firm as consultants to ruin our image.
