Recap: Miami Wrecks Georgia Tech 45-30

View as article
A miami team from 2005-2012, probably loses this game. Miami played decent but nothing to spectacular. The mental toughness of this team is leaps and bounds above the past 7 or so seasons. Its good to have this "flat" performance, so to speak, against Ga Tech. And not like Va Tech or FSU.

Loved the coverage on the 4th & 7 INT (Jenkins played under their best WR with Howard over the top).

I'm most upset with that clear delay of game they didn't call on that first drive and magically awarded a late timeout.

It's insulting when they are blatantly slanted in their officiating like that.

Nice recap. Appreciate reliving the game. When the second string GT QB, Justin Thomas, was in in the 2nd quarter, he was in for one play only because Vad Lee's helmet came off on the previous play and had to go out by rule.

That's not true. He played a series in the 2nd quarter.

I think he's still hurt. Too bad the announcers never clarified that for us or brought up his health. It could've really brought something to the broadcast. It's just a shame they didn't mention it once.
Yep--they mentioned this about as often as commentators remind us during a ****** Tech game that Logan Thomas is--get this--6'6/250, and playing QB!!! In-con-ceivable!!!

This was the 1st time since Antrel Rolle against Louisiana Tech in 2003 that a UM corner back had a pick 6.
Thanks for the stat. I was wondering this out loud to myself after I got finished celebrating the play by Gunter.

Dallas Crawford, what a suprise.

All the kid does is score TD's.

his last TD was really impressive. looked like he was shot out of a cannon through the middle of the defense

I re-watched the play about 10 times trying to see hole he managed to come out of. Literally made a huge play out of nothing. Crawford may not be the most skilled RB, but all the guy does is make big plays and find the end zone. If Gus can fill in the bruiser type role, that would make a nice RB trio as they all bring something different to the table.

For those that know, Golden said the D'Onofrio made adjustments to the defense when he finally got a chance, after Miami scored too fast, then turned the ball over twice. What did he change and what was GT doing differently than they have in the past. I know they were using the diamond formation early on.

Yeah i dont know what was changed exactly but for the first quarter or even whole first half, we looked like we were just a step late on every play on defense. getting gashed over and over again.

out of position? poor execution? what was it?

I know there was something with the diamond formation and Golden said they were doing something different than they'd seen, but they couldn't make the adjustments until they were down 17-7. I was not expecting them to get run on like that. I know they have to adjust to the speed of the option, but they'd done well disrupting it up until last year, when they had all the freshmen that had to play.

Well....GT was false starting almost every play without a flag being thrown, so there is that...

I believe the announcer did mention Morris' injury. The brought it up like 2 or 3 times. The sideline reporter kept saying that the coaches kept telling her the ankle was fine. They even made little sarcastic remark about the ankle being "fine".

Great game from the OL but McDermott continues to be a liability. Gets beat too often.

You are correct. I saw that on the TV replay. I was at the game and missed him in that earlier series. I corrected my post.
