Realus George talks commitment

I recall Maurice Hagans was supposed to be a similar role - kid was a monster and blew up people in HS. Hopefully this kid is the goods. I don't get it, though - are we going to I formation on goal line or short yardage now? I thought we wanted to move away from that antiquated way of running the ball?

I think having a bulldozing fullback lets Richt play mind games with the defense and keep them off balance. I agree I wouldn't like to see A LOT of I formation, but you have to be able to grind out a yard or two in short yardage every once in a while

You dont get why we offered a 6'2" 245lb athlete to play FB?

Exactly. Or imagine this kid getting a few of the screen passes that Herndon has gotten. That's not a knock on our incoming TEs, but just think about how lethal the offense can be if we can put guys in space from a variety of different formations and angles.

All of a sudden this guy can replicate Herndon? Jeezus. He’s a fullback - how often do we need a FB outside of goal line or short yardage? Not sure getting a fullback is the answer to the our short yardage woes. And getting screen passes is not the reason why you sign a guy like this.

Deejay Dallas has already answered our short yardage issues.... plus our oline continued improvement over the season.

You seem surprised that Coach Richt wants to have an effective power run game to add as another weapon??

He's not just here to block, he's going to be trained by Coach Brown and turned into a power back that can wear down defenses. Relax he's just an additional tool for the offense it's not that deep.
