I like the idea of using major bowls for the playoffs on a rotation.
I also like the idea someone said of having smaller bowls have to bid for teams and provide an NIL element to incentivize lids to play. That way you have teams playing where they want and where they think they can draw the most fans. Maybe add a rule a team can’t be in the same (non-playoff) bowl two years in a row (or only 1 year out of 3) so it isn’t the same teams in the same bowls every year. It could also be a way to matchup Power2 teams with those left on the outside looking in.
“I think you’d also have to offer insurance premiums” to big time players so they don’t sit out.
Some good thoughts in this thread.
That was my thought as well, which I neglected to include, the insurance premium. The main reason kids r not participating is the probability of draft stock dropping due to injuries.
I suggested this a while ago, but I feel there should be evaluations & draft positions before the bowl game & insurance premium associated w/ said draft positions, only, for 1st 2-round draft projections. Example: 1st round picks 1-16 have a set package, 17-32 a set package, etc etc. Something of that nature. The insurance kicks in if u get injured and ur draft projection changes b/c of said injury or football career done.
