Real Talk... I think we beat the chit out of clemson..

That Clemson QB is special, no doubt. Say what you want, but Trevor Lawrence is one of the best QB prospects I've seen in a long time. He might look like a goofy surfer dude, but he has size, arm strength, decent speed, good vision and decision making, and great leadership. Mark it down, he will be a force to be reckoned with in the National Football League; if he goes to a decent team.

If we couldn't shut down Louisville's offense, what makes you think we can stop an offense with the future #1 pick as QB?

They will easily score 30+ on us, with our questionable LB corps and depleted secondary. We won't have Gurvan Hall for the first half.

Can we make this a bar fight? Can our offense score points on Clemson?

If we can, we got a shot.

Honestly, I just want it to be competitive. The last two games we've played against them are a combined loss of 96-3. I can't stand the thought of being embarassed again.

Let me get this right:

You don't follow Miami football the past couple years, can't recognize more than 8 players on the team, but after watching a game you are now our #1 supporter and believe we are going to destroy the #1 team in the country.

Your opinion is pointless.

:cautious: If we can stay within 10 points of them we will have proven to be a top 10 like I think we are. We ain't there yet ( being as good as clemson ) but we just might be in December when we meet again.

The best defense in the Clemson game is going to be the offense.

King is going to have to put on a show. He's capable...and we're playing well right now. We are also about as healthy as you could ask for. There is never a good time to play Clemson but if you HAVE to play them......this is the perfect spot for us with a bye week to prepare and a good start to the season already under our belt.

Way I see it, three things need to happen for us to beat Clemson
1) defense holds them under 30 (im not getting passed at Baker if we give up 28, but more than 35 and we probably can't win)
2) offense needs to stay ahead of the sticks and protect the ball when we don't score; we won't score every possession, but when we don't make sure we win field position
3) win the turnover battle by 2+, especially avoiding muffed punts

Correct. Clemson's O needs to be kept off the field and given as few plays as possible.

The way Miami D is playing, good chance Blondie and company carve them up for chunks at a time.

Clemson isn't perfect and hopefully they will be overconfident and mess up a bit. And just because we have a few sorrowful errors or mishaps and drops from time to time, doesn't mean this can't be the night it doesn't happen much (if at all.) Let it be written let it be said!
