Real Talk-Can Richt run a clean program?

Butch ran fairly clean with great ultimate success; no reason Mark can't. Little surprised he had so many arrest given all the "good guy" stuff we know. Maybe a little Bobby Ball rubbed off on him. How many arrest do we need to win the NC? That would be my upper limit.

They get arrested in the college towns, but it doesn't seem like they actually get convicted or punished. Look at UF under Meyer. A lot of money is spent cleaning up the kids' messes.

3rd most arrests over the last 5 years-behind UF and Washington state. 22 guys in 5 years... (Over the same time period Miami had only 7)

Could this ever become an issue at Miami?

We back! Joking aside, I am not sure if this is so much indicative of the program as it is the type of recruits he wants. As far as I know he is been above board in terms of keeping fidelity with NCAA rules and his programs (as fas as I now) have never been under investigation.

He is a unabashed Christian and I would bet he will actually take more chances on kids that have troubled backgrounds than not in the hopes he can encourage them to make positive changes in their lives. That, of course, does not mean it will happen. Players must take individual responsibility at some point in their lives for their own actions instead of faulting the "system" or the "program".

Just win.

UM will always be viewed as the bad boys of CFB. We are instantly found guilty and sentenced in the court of public opinion if there is a UM arrest. Some dude could get arrested this afternoon and it would make front page ESPN news. It's just the way it is.

Nothing nothing nothing nothing covers up a multitude of sins like winning. (see fsu and uf under urby)

So I wholeheartedly agree, just win.

Players getting arrested for dumb sht has nothing to do with your program being clean or not. But as with both scenarios, it will ultimately fall on the shoulders of those same players.

Since some incident (i don't remember what started it), the Athens Police Chief has had it in for UGA football players.

UGA players get zero tolerance, plus aggressive policing. Anyone they can arrest, they do, even if no charges are filed later.

I mean, driving a scooter with a suspended license doesn't get you a ticket and a court date--it gets you arrested.

Passing on the right on a scooter? Arrested.

"Emerging from an alley" (no joke, that was the official police report)? Arrested

Not being able to spell your middle name, when you are a pedestrian, and give the cop your correct first and last name? Arrested.

So the arrest numbers are pretty high for UGA...

Based on this description of your local law enforcement, your reaction to the Richt firing and general civility and *relative common sense, I'm starting to believe Georgia is a bad fit for the SEC.

Next best thing to being there. I'll take that.

Playing in Miami can be a double edged sword. On one hand, you won't be worshiped everywhere you go like CFB players in small, college towns are. On the other hand, there's waaayy too much real crime happening in the city so cops are more likely to look the other way when it involves small-time, college shenanigans like underage drinking.

Not completely opposed to making it a crime to be too dumb to spell your own name.

Richt has no problem kicking talented kids off the team no matter who you are...
