It literally wasn't even a contest.
That said, I don't want to be ranked (top 10) until we prove we can stay ranked (top 10).

Outside of maybe teams 1-3, throw the rest of the top 30 together and anyone can beat anyone.

Why are you guys so butt-hurt about rankings? Forget it going to our heads or whatever stupid scenario old timers come up with to rationalize Miami not deserving a ranking.
Here are the facts: Four teams ahead of us dropped games yesterday: A&M, ND, Baylor, UF. They're all going to fall - some more than others, but they'll all be behind us.
Did Kentucky's performance really merit jumping a significant amount in the rankings? Maybe we're biased as Canes fans, but that game was all about Florida's "high flying" offense imploding and looking like it belongs at the G5 level (whoops, couldn't resist). Nothing Kentucky did merits a jump past 14.
What about Arkansas, they're 2-0 in the vaunted SEC! Escaping vs. Cinci at home? Failing to put Spencer Rattler away and continuously getting torched on defense? Nah, not buying it.
Maybe we don't LOOK like a traditional Top 12 team, but **** - who did this weekend? No one covered the spread. So I ask kindly that y'all haters that say "we don't deserve this" sit down and shut up. Mario ain't letting this team come out hungover again, not back to back weeks. And we all know his reputation coming out as an underdog, especially on the road (because we will still be an underdog per Vegas, maybe not 7.5 pts but still a dog). Not saying we win, but the "not deserving" moping needs to end.

Despite that narrative, I still do believe we are the better team than TAMU on paper and fortunately we get a chance to prove it this week.
Every team besides OSU, Bama, and UGA have lots of holes.

Bama’s Oline is sus for the second year in a row. OSU is very good but not on the level of previous years.
UGA seems to be in a tier by themselves.

Negative. Pollsters likely have PTSD from Cincy. I could see them ranked mid/high-teens or higher--but I personally have them around 19-22

Hopefully we are top 10. I’d imagine it’s easier to sell the idea that Mario is truly making Miami a contender to recruits by us being rated as highly as possible.
And sure, I’d love to “just win”, but early signing day comes before the end of the season so I’ll take all the positive momentum we can get right now.

As previously stated, rankings shouldn’t come out until like week 6. They are meaningless until we get a decent sample size
