There have been a few questions about this, but I'm told that the only recruits who signed financial aid agreements with Miami were commits -- no uncommitted targets.

For those unaware, signing the grant-in-aid financial paperwork allows a school to have unlimited contact with coaches, even during the dead period. From my understanding, this was not something that Miami coaches really pursued with their targets this year.

Dead period ends in January 11th.

The Financial Aid Papers don't prevent the HS player from going elsewhere, it just solidifies his spot at the school he signed with. Signing the papers doesn't mean the recruitment is over, I believe Dalvin Cook signed one with all 3 Florida schools.

Could just be my biased memory and not defending this staff either way but the ol' "He signed the grant-in-aid paperwork!" seems like a moral victory that the old staff targeted a little too often without ever turning it into a real victory.

Y not? Other schools are doing it and therefore they are able to still contact kids. I don't get that philosophy. It's non binding....so what if a kid decides to come or not; at least give yourself a shot to keep communication open while these other schools are poking around.
