Are we getting to a point where Mallory should be RB1? Could we even do that to Mark Fletcher in his final year after all he’s done for the program?

I think you even out the carries more at least. I heard D$ podcast about us doing this with every young RB that plays well but this seems different. The other RBs like Lyle and Pringle were looking good in blowouts against teams backups. Mallory is out there doing it against the same comp as Fletch. He is just seeing the field really well while Fletch is running into the line.

Absolutely not. You guys that want to put Fletcher second need to go back to just the past game and watch how many times Fletcher bails out the OL and Mensah with his pass protection on breakdowns. If I remember correctly watch the TD pass to Mueller.
We are fine letting Mark bang into the defense at the start and then bring Lyle and Mallory to smoke them later in the game.
Late in the game if we need to pass keep Fletcher in, otherwise Mallory can ice it.
Pringle can keep stats on the side at this point for all I care. He dances in front of the hole every time and we get nothing accomplished when he is in.

I think they have different roles - it seems like Fletcher is our stud pass blocker and most of his runs are inside zone that usually sets up Mallory for his outside zone runs. Mallory has the strength to run it up the middle.

Really need the OG to step up a bit more in the run game for Fletcher.

You guys are crazy man lol. No clue how quickly you all forgot what Fletcher did in the post season relative to last year's regular season.

Mallory is a freshman who has evolved into the perfect #2. Stop trying to move on from greatness (Fletcher) just because there's a shiny new lamborghini (Mallory) in the garage.

Both have their roles, both will eat. But you're kidding yourself if you don't think Mark is a top 3 (prob 2) back in America right now.

He's getting close. Dmoney made some comment about it being ridiculous to say that.

I am not saying Fletcher is bad. Or worse than last year. Fletcher is a monster and insanely physical. Mallory just has some traits at RB we haven't seen since the glory days. He is going to be an NFL RB1 kinda guy. He is a better player.

That is not disrespectful to Fletch. Mallory is just a game changing running back. I think he will be better than Duke and is our best RB since Gore.

This is basically like if Toney was a freshman when Restrepo was a senior. Except in this case Fletcher is a little better and Mallory is a little worse

This is all working out pretty perfectly. If we are in fact the playoff force we all think we are, we are developing depth through the heart of the schedule and, starting with Notre Dame, we will be able to hammer teams that try to take away the deep ball. Big Fletch will be fresh for the big games / closing moments. Mallory and Lyle will get the reps they need for the staff to be able to determine whether we need to go for a big $ addition to the group in the portal or roll with them as our top 2 guys for next season. All the rest is just ******* noise (that our own dumb **** fanbase insists on creating even when we are winning because nobody is comfortable with success).
