So all of our 4 RBs are returning and none of them will be seniors next year. I think it's very possible Richt is just taking 1 RB in this class, hence why Jawon seems to be leaving the class. Not that Richt has a 'better' back lined up.

2017 seems to be seen as a better year in soFla for rbs, and if we want to take 2 next year we're gonna have a few too many backs on roster. I think someone transfers out due to lack of time, maybe Gray switches positions.

But 2 rbs in this class would mean 6 on the roster next year with no seniors, and none of the juniors looking like they would leave early. That's an extremely overcrowded backfield.

So we take the universally considered can't miss guy in Homer. If we had more room, then we go after a fun, overlooked dade county guy like hamilton. Sometimes the numbers just don't work out that way.

you only take another rb in this class if it is a true difference maker or someone that has a different skillset then what we already have. Whaley would make sense as a bigger workhorse type back. Obviously that could be Gus, but with his injury he is still a question mark to return to full strength.

We're still missing a difference maker at the position. All I see on the roster right now is high average at best, maybe even barely good if we're lucky. We need an elite back, maybe Homer or Whaley is it.

Fair. I don't think we get Whaley. I'm just saying it probably isn't a priority to find a second back for this class. If we got 2 elite backs in this class we'd need some clever roster management or deal with a few transfers out. Maybe Gus to fullback, and gray to receiver?

Take two RBs in Homer and Whaley.... Move Gray to WR or somewhere(still not seeing the hype in him regardless), leaving Yearby, Walton, and Gus. Homer and Whaley can RS.

Gus always should've been a fullback. I'd move Walton or Gray to WR, but which I'm not sure since I'm not in practice. I really hoped for more from Walton, maybe it's there with a revamped offense, but we'll see. Gray, I always hear about him, but haven't seen enough to make the call on. Yearby and one elite back, that's what we need. With injuries at the position somewhat common, a second elite back would get reps as well.

Homer and Whaley, if they can pick up blitzes, are better than anyone on the roster not named Yearby. In certain situations, both may be better than Yearby.

I don't see anything special in Whaley.

Take Homer and focus on next year with Burns etc....

Richt does I am thinking thats all i need to know. I am pretty sure he has proven himself as an elite RB evaluator and you... well meh.

Yeah you dont put your fastest back at FB why?

Whaley is big with decent feet but his film doesnt look super star like

Hamiltons film looks good do we have room for two probably not but Hamilton has some nice film..

Walton will be faster and more explosive next year we arent that bad off at RB weve had way worse backfields in the past that have been productive
.

You don't see anything special about a guy with his size / strength hitting full speed quickly while running north / south? We will just agree to disagree on this one.

He's exactly the type of RB Richt loved at Georgia and has the frame to add more weight and strength.

Walton, even though he came a year early, is the same age as the rest of the freshman. I just don't see any part of his game that's elite and I was one who said he'd surpass Yearby his first year. At this point, I don't ever see that happening.

After one year, you don't ever see that happening? Walton proved to be elite in space this year taking a few balls to the house off of passes. There were no holes to run through this year with the pathetic OL. Wait until he has a year of college conditioning to pack on muscle and a decent OL before deciding he's a bust.

He's great out of the backfield, has a fantastic set of hands. Having said that, I want a running back to be able to make one guy miss or run one over if the OL play is poor. Walton wasn't good at either and that's what I look for in a back. Yearby could make someone miss him, that's what separates the two of them. You almost always know what you've got with a running back right away.
